I missed this last episode also.
The Ralphie quote of the week is . . .
"Bye, witches! Thanks for not eating me!" Ralphie Wiggum is a special individual. He spends his time eating crayons, asking stupid questions and talking to his imaginary friend. |

Some old lady came and killed a bunch of people. Of course Clark kicked the old lady's ass. They didn't tell us where her power came from but I guess it's hard to think of another way kryptonite could infect someone. Perhaps a pothead enemy with kryptonite weed.

missed the "easy view" of this yesterday...was stuck in traffic for 3 hours on a highway...yuck. (but I learned to do the pee-pee dance while sitting down AND learned I could drive with my legs crossed)
never wanted to be a man (or a dog) more in my life than I did last night... |

Old lady's powers | ||

Her powers had to be pre-kryptonite, since she'd been killing kids back to 1920.

WTF?? | ||

What was up with last nights episode?!
First off - did it seem really choppy to anyone else? Like they were jumping all over the place with the storylines? Secondly - the ending scene w/ Lionel- is the kid still alive then? And what the hell did the kid say on the preview at the end? I heard 'will you marry me?" wha???? please help the clueless! |

WTF? | ||

I loved last night's episode. I thought it was great how they explained what happened when the clark arrived. It also showed one of the reasons why the Kents hate the Luthers so much.
Lionel said the kid died when he was one year old. I didn't really believe him though. That's what makes it so good. |

Re: WTF? | ||

There are a lot of missing/dead/unknown parents in this episode. I found that rather interesting.
Lionel Luther lied to Lex saying the kid died at 1 year old. He has a pic of him with the kid and a lock of his hair. That may come to play in later episodes - Lex's real 1/2 brother. I didn't see the preview for next week, sorry Tinks. |

Re: WTF? | ||

I think that Lionel's real son (who did not have red hair) was the one that died (obviously older than at 1 yrs old) and Lex is really the Crazy Redhead's son Lucas. He had red hair before it all burnt off.

Do you think that the kid could be Whitney Lana's Ex boyfriend

doubt it... | ||

Whitney? naw - doubt it...he was basically written out of the show...he ain't coming back.
I figure Lex is really Lucas too (the whole red 'hairing' (herring - getit? oh whatever)) thing have we ever seen pics of Lex's mom? Was she a blond? |

Ah, now why did they have to kill off the psychic kid Ryan? He's more interesting than Clark Kent and the kid was a better actor.
This was a Super cheesy episode. Still, a little *tear*. And Clark alone broke about 24 state and federal laws. Nice to see that next episode features guest star JONATHAN TAYLOR THOMAS!!! |

This ep confused me. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Ryan never appeared on the show before, right? So how come all the characters were treating him like they shared this huge back-story we were supposed to know? It almost felt like watching Part 2 of a 2-parter without ever airing Part 1.

Apparently he appeared in an episode last season, but since I didnt see it, Im only taking the word of people on another Smallville message board. I was thrown off by it too but luckily this episode was hardly very complicated.

Quote: Actually, the character Ryan did appear last season in an episode titled "Stray". Here's the episode summary... Clark befriends a kindred spirit when his family aids a secretive teen who can read minds. The teen, Ryan, enters the Kents' life in dramatic fashion when Martha accidentally strikes him with her car while he is fleeing from a murderous thief...his stepfather. Clark's parents take Ryan in, but the boy's safety is soon jeopardized by the father's return. The stepfather wants Ryan to continue using his mind-reading powers to help him in his newest scheme - to get hold of Lex's passcode for his finances. Clark manages to rescue Ryan, who promises to keep his secret but warns him about Lex. Meanwhile, Lex has a chance to leave Smallville when his father offers him a job in Metropolis, but their stormy history makes Lex wary of his father's generous impulse. |

This was Ryan's second episode. He is an orphan. He was travelling with a man and a woman. They were using Ryan's mind-reading abilities to steal. [A robbery went bad and the woman ended up getting killed. Ryan ran off.]
There was a car accident (Ryan got hit by a car driven by Clark's mom). After being released from the hospital, Ryan ended up staying with the Kents. Ryan and Clark became buddies / brothers. The bad guy found Ryan, kidnapped him and tried to use him to steal from Lex Luther. Ryan, the villain and Lex were inside Lex's hijacked limo. Ryan was supposed to use his psychic abilities to read Lex's mind and get a password or number. Ryan had become friendly with Lex so he didn't want to cooperate. Somehow Ryan got away and ran into a bowling alley. Superman saved him from the villain. Ryan left town to live with his aunt. |

That kid is such a great actor, really amazing.
I'm also in love with VonRay, the band that appeared. The song is called Inside Out, I've been listning to it for 3 days now From beneath you I devour

Ooh I finally have something to post about at Sucks.
I think Smallville is a pretty stupid show, but I have been a Superman fan for forever so I torture myself with watching. This season has been particularly bad, we have had two fair to good episodes (Ryan and Heat) and the rest have been horrible. These writers just make me want to gouge my eyes out most of the time. Here is my review from Dichotomy: Two good episodes in a row was just too much to ask for. Another freak with no origin (unless that was the first 2 minutes of the show that I missed). The evil guy stealing Lana and/or Chloe is done to death, boring. This was a yawn fest all around. The action stunk and the dialogue sounds like it came from the writers of the 60's version of Batman. I have never in my life used honesty as many times a day as these people do. I honestly hate honest and all its forms now. Help Superman I am being honested to death!! I always thought it was a bit corny that Clark Kent wore glasses and Supes didn't, but that does not even compare to the corniness of Smallville and how STUPID these people are. This show must get a killer deal on filming at hospitals!!! I would like to thank the writers for not sewing up the ending for us, that is too much to ask. |

programerror, why in the world do you subject yourself to a show that you dislike so much?
Nude Jerri, thanks for the info about Ryan. I missed the first episode he was in, and I just happened to read your post before I watched the show. It was really helpful to me. |
