I just assumed it was a vanity thing on Koslow's part - but I could be wrong (there are ways to have makeup on without looking like you have makeup on).
Who knows what her real face looks like......she could transform the way Oprah does ----- with makeup: good thing; without makeup - scarey!!

This just in. A source close to the set of Days of Our Lives says news of Jay Kenneth Johnson (Philip) leaving the sudser has proven premature.
"Jay is back!" says the source. "It was all just a stupid misunderstanding." The source also reveals Peter Reckell (Bo) and Kristian Alfonso (Hope) agreed to take massive pay cuts. "And good for them!" says the source. "It says a lot about Peter and Kristian for them to do that. It says that they are team players and want the show to succeed." Even more top tier Days actors are being asked to take substantial cuts as well. Keep checking back to Daytime Confidential as this story develops |

The rumor is that together Dee and Drake, even with limited airtime, made about 4 million a year which is estimated to be about 15% of the show's new
budget. So think the firings were smart moves if the show is now operating at 40% of its old budget.
I think Bope are more the face of Days than Jarlena. I haven't related to the Marlena character in years. She just doesn't seem real. I know this offends some people but I think Dee and Drake have been phoning it in for the last 10 years. I know the writing is crap but Kristian and Mary Beth have had no problems turning whatever garbage comes their way into magic on screen. Peter and Kristian have real talent and I am very happy they are staying with the show, agreeing to take pay cuts. |

I hate to hear that Kristian Alfonso took a pay cut. Now it will be even harder for her to afford to eat....
I really could care less about any of the people currently on the chopping block. Hell I'd throw a few more characters (Max, Stephanie, Brady, Chloe, Stefano, Daniel, Rafe, Marlena and even though it'll never happen again, Bo and Hope) on the fire. Pretty much EJ, Nicole and Sammi are the only people worth watching on this show. If they'd give Chelsea a good storyline I'd let her stay too. And of course Tony and Anna.ITA with most of the above. I actually enjoy NuJohn, but won't miss Marlena. However, if I were in charge of Days, I would keep her no matter what. She really has become the star of the show (along with Sami). If I had my wish, the show would be all about Tony and Anna, EJ and Nicole, and possibly Rafe and Sami. Rafe is delish. OH-- I was riveted by the scenes between Nick and Melanie. wow. when he was talking about Willow (oh, how I was thrilled when she died), and the %%$+$ were streaming down his face in the scenes.... good stuff. I wish Max had gone psycho instead of Nick. I have always liked Nick. oh well. Kate looks pretty good... and that isn't necessarily unrealistic. I recently met a lady who is in need of a bone marrow transplant (luckily, she is receiving one on Dec 3). To look at her, you would not know that she has been through 2 bouts with breast cancer and has pre leukemia caused by the chemo/radiation treatments. she looks really beautiful. however, she is fragile and must rest constantly. just a reminder-- don't feed the trolls or they will keep coming back for more. :) |

Marlena leaving doesn't make or break the show for me. She is sort of a patriarch, but not so much for me. I hate to see NuJohn go, but if Marlena goes
the writers don't have the imagination to do something good with his character that doesn't evolve around Marlena.
I'm bored w/Bope, but good to see they're willing to take a pay cut to keep their jobs. The hard times financially are affecting everyone- even Hollywood richie riches. Melanie and Nick were good yesterday, but let's wrap this storyline up already. I think Nick is going away to a padded cell for a very long time. It looks to me like they're going to hook up Steph and Phillip (blech) and have Melanie trying to break them up b/c she wants him. The new Brady is pretty hawt. I'm curious to see who they'll hook him up with since Chloe is taken. I say let Brady and Chelsea get together. At least they're not related. |

were true, but he conceded in the end). Who knows how many of them have taken the cut and we've just not heard about it.

Deidre & Drake have taken tons of paycuts throughout the years. Deidre has been on record stating she wants to be on the show until it ends. I doubt Ken
even offered them a pay cut.

My local conservative news station reported it yesterday. I just hope we are able to get them to return for the finale. I'd love to see all the big couples return. |

It was Cass & Lila's wedding. It ended with Rachel going through her living room looking at pictures. She then left the room with Carl and turned out
the lights. Then we saw a picture of Mac as it went black.
