Oh my, Sherri made a very good point. When talking about Rev. Wright, Sherri said that there are many people who may have a negative view on America because of the things America has done in the past (internment camps, the Native Americans, etc). Of course, then, Elisabeth says that America also has the right to vote, choice, having the ability to have these conversations, etc, and that people shouldn't focus on the negative. So, we have the right to have these conversations, but shouldn't be talking about the bad things America (as a whole) has done? Hypocrisy much?
What Elizabeth said about America can be said by a Canadian about Canada. But neither country talks too much about what they did to the Japanese or to the Natives, because that requires some serious nation-based reflection and the ability to acknowledge wrongdoings. Elizabeth doesn't want to do either, because then some guilt might be induced by such things, and she's probably been brainwashed into believing that america can do no wrong.
On a lighter note, I'm betting that The View getting nominated and then not winning. Again! Bwahahaha!
