I love that Kathy pushes Barbara's buttons. Now, Barbara seems to step in whenever anything is about to be debated. She's too cautious. Let it be like hockey; give them a couple seconds/minutes to get into it.

Oh Snap!!
Nicely done. That'll leave a mark. I would also ask, why are neo-cons so anti-intellectual? (it's "you're", dear... just like it's been since first grade...). |

Kathy Hilton is as bad as that Lohan mother
calling Baba WAWA when she knows she will talk about it on TV If my daughter was going to jail, I would be supportive but, somehow ashamed I didn't do a better job raising her... Joy is really trying to keep the politics going Kathy lead the way out and I was excited she was going to moderate but no, BABA won't let her |

I actually really liked the show today with Kathy on, but Baba prevents it from ever getting as good as it was with Rosie. She's just a straight up buzz killer.
We have more attacks being planned and attempted against us! But we stopped them! OMG we're so much safer!!1!!1 Thanks Iraq War!!1! |

Re: the view | ||

Julie, I don't even care to ever type the name "Hilton". But I believe the ladies were the ones who talked about Paris first, then Mom Kathy, who's a personal friend of BaWa's, had to make some sort of statement. She knew it'd be on. I'm sure she told BaWa exactly what to say.
I'm a very hands on mom and I still have to endure a fair share of heartaches from my own 20 y.o. daughter. I can't really jump on ma Hilton until I could figure out her purpose on the View this week. Kathy G. can be fun for us. My observation is that, BaWa is afraid of leaving Kathy G. alone with the ladies. Since BW herself could not be on the show every day of the week, I'd wonder if Kathy would be used as a sub for Liz rather than perm. -- even though these two ladies views are different as night and day |

Love any Kathy G I can get.
Can someone clarify exaclty what was it about the split screen that pissed off Rosie so much? I've heard that was the moment she knew she was done (supposedly). What was it that bothered her so much? Something about her not doing "Hannity & Combs" style show? |

There's a joke about not fitting in the frame dying to be told, but I refuse to be the one who does it.

After watching Kathy on The View today, I can't help but think there's no way she'll get this job.
She sort of lost some support with the Condoleeza Rice comment. |

Re: the view | ||

I don't think I've read an overt statement from Rosie or an analysis about the split frame, but from my pov it make The View too much like a controversial news show that pits pundits against each other in a contentious way, and I think Rosie thought it set them both up too much to be sparring partners rather than friends discussing things in an open minded way.
My retort would be that Rosie and Liz were the ones who reframed their relationship to be adversarial. The split screen was only a formalization of what they were becoming anyway. |

Re: the view | ||

She said that Condoleeza Rice would do whatever the "white man" said, and that no black woman should be a Republican. Which Barbara said was a bigoted remark.
Yes, today's show did make it look unlikely that Kathy would get the spot just because of how much of a twat Barbara was to her. She also slapped Kathy's hand at one point and expressly told her she would never be invited to one of her dinner parties. |

I know I'm not alone in this thought, but Barbara has GOT TO GO. She brings this show down so much and I cannot stand to watch her on the show. Yesterday was painful. During most of the segments she sat there like a stick in the mud. Meanwhile, the others were laughing and having a good time. She is so OUT OF IT and needs to take a hike. Kathy would be awesome for this show. I get so sick and tired of hearing how Barbara is pals with this person, or that person is a "Friend of the View."
If they pick Whoopi, the show will be a snoozefest. |

Quote: I agree. I've never tivo'd the view before, and I did yesterday because everyone said Kathy G was so good, but it seemed like anything kathy had to say, barbara was chastizing her like a child. It's ridiculous. And WTF was barbara wearing yesterday? It looked like a warmup suit or something, |

Re: the view | ||

Barbara slapped Kathy's hand when Kathy said people thought John Ramsey was guilty of killing his daughter. Whether or not you believe that, Kathy was right. Plenty of people believed that (and some still do).
I just saw Kathy's comment about Rice. I think Kathy made the comment in a non-confrontational manner and defended her opinion very well. OK, I should've waited until Hot Topics was over (recorded the show) before I posted since I keep editing. Nice segue from a good political conversation to Paris Hilton, Barbara. Whatever. I hate when Elisabeth gives that smug look. She said just because people don't support Hillary, it doesn't mean they don't support women. There was silence after that, like she was expecting applause. I think Kathy once again sounded good by saying Elisabeth may believe that, but many don't like Hillary just because she's a woman. |

Whoopi would not be a snoozefest. She'd actually be a much more intelligent and funnier adversary for Liz. As for Barbara, she's not going anywhere. It's her show.
