Elisabeth is a delusional bitch who thinks she knows everything and does not back down on any of her opinions even if it is beyond stupid. Joy is a loud mouth hag who based her political views on snippets from The Daily Show Whoopie - the most sane but condascending, thinks she is always right. Sherri - The proof that abortion sometimes is the best solution to a situation. Barbara - This old hag has Dementia and should be put to sleep.

Barbara starts out by saying that it concerns her that Sarah Palin needs so much "prepping" for the debate. Sherri makes an intelligent(!) observation, by asking "Don't they prep everybody?" (And Barbara is apparently unconcerned that Obama didn't want to return to DC last week with McCain because he was too busy prepping for his own debate.) Of course they prep everyone. Geraldine Ferraro has said she did nothing but go to "debate bootcamp" for weeks before her debate. I think the sad thing is so many people don't ever want to hear the other side of the story. We've become a hateful nation. If you are going to talk about her experience, it is perfectly valid to respond about the experience at the TOP of the ticket. I know Elizabeth doesn't always come off as the most well spoken person, but I can imagine how hard it must be to gather your thoughts into something intelligent when you have the gang of four screaming at you. Then she shouldn't have been hired for the position. That's...uh...what the show entails. And since when has gathering her thoughts into something intelligent ever been a priority of Elisabeth's? The shows lately have gone almost into scripted territory. ~Relevant question about Palin/John McCain" Elisabeth: "Does Obama/Biden (repeat question here)?" Turning questions around without answering legitimate claims against her candidate does not a good speaker make.

True, but I have decided I like having someone that dumb on TV, because she does represent the dumb people very well. Barbara - This old hag has Dementia and should be put to sleep. She probably knows the most of anyone at the table when it comes to news and politics, unfortunately, she never shares her insider knowledge, mistakenly thinking she is still a "jounalist." I bolded in some additions to this list. I live in a very conservative area, and Elizabeth screetching out her talking points (directly from FOX) is uncomfortably familiar to me. My former next door neighbor sends me emails saying the same things she says daily, and worse. I want to think that there are intelligent conservatives out there, who are actually capable of thinking for themselves, and/or considering all sides of an issue. I would like to see one on The View, and I completely disagree that they would be "attacked" by the other panelists if they could actually have a discussion, instead of an entrenched and inflexible bag of "talking points" to throw into the conversation whenever things got touchy, or they felt their "side" looked bad. Attack Attack Attack is Elizabeth's method, and the only thing that shuts her up for a moment so another thought can be expressed is attack back. I rarely watch this show anymore, and it used to be a 'daily' for me. Back in the "olden" days, Joy used to slam liberal democrats for idiocy too, as did Meredith. Hell, even now Whoopie, and even Joy will flat out say, "that was stupid" about something "their" side does or says. Elisabeth? Never. It's always the same old shit with her, delivered in a strident, mocking, or hysterical manner. She is a fucking idiot, and a puppet. If she has ever actually thought something out for herself, other than which pair of shoes to wear with a certain outfit, I would be astonished.

After her disgraceful John McCain interview, Barbara has NO credibility on the issue of objectivity. She is not seeking true objectivity from Elisabeth, she just wants Elisabeth to say that she is wrong and the others are right. Elisabeth is no more opinionated for the Republican Party than Barbara/Whoopi/Joy are for the Democrat Party. In fact, many liberals define 'objectivity' as 'having liberal opinions.' It's like Barbara is saying, "Elisabeth, I'm going to give you one more chance to answer this question, and this time, I want you to be 'objective' (just like Joy and Whoopi) by giving a liberal response." Then Elisabeth stands her ground and tries to give a Republican response, whereupon the others start screaming to shut her up. That Barbara encourages this is disturbing, but not really surprising. She represents the attitude of the mainstream media quite well. It's very instructive to watch.

When Cindy McCain was on the show as a co-host a couple of months ago, all the gals were lovey-dovey and polite to her... but of course, at that point, John McCain seemed destined to lose the election, so the ladies could afford to be gracious. When John and Cindy appeared a few weeks ago, he had just re-energized his campaign and turned this election into a true horse race... and Barbara & Co. were furious about it, and tried to derail him the whole time. All you have to do is compare the McCain interview to the Obama interview, where the "View" women called Obama "sexy" and asked biting questions like, "Is it true you're related to Brad Pitt?"

The fact that most "liberals" actually liked McCain eight years ago before he sold his soul to Bush Co. to win the presidency doesn't count. ETA: I don't think so. This was based on her on-air questions and comments. If she ever was a Republican, she was most likely a liberal Republican (or a "Rockefeller Republican" as they were called back then). And she either became a liberal Democrat as the years passed, or she simply concluded that an older woman working in the liberal-dominated TV industry would have a much longer career if she was seen as a liberal. Maybe that's the dynamic between Barbara and Elisabeth. Barbara wants Elisabeth to follow her path, 'moderating' her views so that Elisabeth can have a longer career in TV. And Barbara gets angry and frustrated that Elisabeth won't take her advice.

Look, having the weakest member of the panel be the only one who is there to represent one side while everyone else sits there and argues the other side with her is stupid. And it looks stupid. And it's hard to argue when you're backed into a corner, I don't care who you are. If they want to act like they are having a fair discussion on an issue then for crying out loud, make it fair.
