Loved it! Lots of Nick! Too funny the way Sophie managed to get a bunch of stuff she wanted. Whatever happened to the pregnancy talk between Shannon and Gene? Did they give up?

I kept thinking while I watched Sunday night's episode that I couldn't tell any difference in Gene's face; it looked exactly the same. But at the end, when he looked back in Nick's room and grinned, he looked Asian again. I wonder if it was shot out of sequence.

A&E has ordered a third season. I wonder if this is going to revolve around the family missing Nick while he's at college or maybe the show will visit him there.
I don't see why Nick would want to stay at home when his dad has 150 million dollars and can send him any where in the country. He wouldn't even have to live on campus. If for example he dicided to go to NYU, Gene could buy a condo nearby for him to stay until he graduates and then sell the condo afterwards. |

Was the outtakes show the finale? I don't see any new shows listed in the new TV Guides. It was another good eppy. Interesting to see how they have the cameras in their faces and the sound guys. Loved the Nick the clown spot they did.

Guess it wasn't the season finale after all. New eppy last night where they went camping. And they were advertising 2 new episodes to be shown next Sunday. Yay for me, as I enjoy the shows.

^^ Based on what was shown -- their excitement during most of the race, and Shannon's comment afterwards, I would say they bet on Hard Spun, the pacesetter from the beginning and stayed in the lead until Street Sense kicked in that turbo gear at the top of the stretch.
I wonder what kind of wagering they had...since Hard Spun came in 2nd, they would have won some money unless the entire sum was placed for the Win. If they truly picked the horse based on the color of its silk, I'd say they did pretty well. The kid Gene Simmons was talking to when he visited the barn area, who talked him into picking up some manure for good luck is one funny kid; he's the son of Dale Romans, trainer of Sharp Humor who ran in the 2006 Derby. He didn't have a horse in the Derby this year though. |

I gotta say I love this show. I love Tracy's and Shannon's shenanigans and I think they'd be really fun to hang out with together in real life. I was cracking up at that old guy at the Derby who shook Gene's hands and told Gene how he's been a fan of his since he was a little kid. Then seeing Gene's face as he deadpans at the camera and rolls his eyes like he's heard that before was hysterical. Also loved all the hotel room stuff - his fumigating the bathroom, how he got his chest hair stuck in his PJs, etc. That was all so funny.
I know this show is scripted but I can't help comparing this to that other family "reality" (scripted) show "Hogan Knows Best." Maybe it's just me but somehow, Gene's family does comedy much better and their situations seem less contrived. His kids seem much more grounded and normal than Hulk's kids. They have a better flair for comedy, too. Why VH1 keeps renewing their shitfest is really beyond me... |

My husband says Nick should do stand-up. He could just make jokes about his father the whole time.
Btw, read in the paper today that Paul Stanley had to bow out of a southern California concert because of heart problems on Friday night. Gene Simmons, Tommy Thayer, and Eric Singer played the gig at Soboba Casino while Paul was taken to the hospital. The show must go on, I guess. It was the first time KISS has played as a trio, according to their website. |
