A question re 1979 | ||
|
I never post, but I need to ask - Was the the mention of October 1979 today by Scot accurate? And if so, did that date disrupt the space-time continunum of General Hospital? I'm trying to figure out whether that date works with Lucky's or Nicolas's age.

Awww. . . .you're so cute! You can't judge ages of characters anymore, I think they call it Soap Aging Syndrome or something. If that were the case Lulu should be 9 or something.

Re: re | ||

No, I know you can't avoid the Syndrome. I thought that was the reason they never usually mention actual dates on the shows - to avoid the obvious discrepancy with the ages of the characters. That is why I was surprised to hear Scott say the date - if Nicholas is 30-something on the show, how could Laura have been raped by Luke in 1979? I hate when they blithely ignore even the semblance of real time.

Makes it harder to do storylines from the past. Its funny b/c it SHOULD make the veterans older than what they are but they stay the same age so we have like a 40 year old with a 28 year old kid.

Re: re | ||

I think the 1979 date is the only thing accurate about anything to do with Laura at this point. Nicholas and Lucky are both hot, but no way do I believe either of them are supposed to be in their early/mid 20's, especially Nicholas who has been looking pretty haggard lately.
Soap aging has always been about appealing to an actresses vanity. Erica Kane and her brood are perfect examples of this on AMC. I always find it amusing that Erica supposedly had Kendall when she was like 13 or 14, which in the real world would make her character at least 50. I always chuckle when I think of them actually casting a middle aged woman to play Kendall. Haha |

Re:New Spoilers for a New Thread
|
Hehee, this thread is so tiny !!
Anyhoo, onto the spoilers. Taken as usual from: GHH2 -- It's confirmed! Anna WILL return, and will be here all summer! Look for an unlikely romance to kindle when she notices Noah's charms.. how will Patrick and Robin react to their parent's relationship?????????? -- Alexis and Jerry are a go. He may end up being instrumental in the outcome of her final custody hearing for Molly . . if I were Ric, I'd watch my back! -- Another GH Alumn will be back this summer.. Ned will be around for at LEAST that long, maybe longer. I could totally see him with Ameilia or Kate, how 'bout you?? -- Carly will spend most of the summer worrying about Jax and his decision to back up Jerry in his latest schemes... -- Look for a long time secret to come out, and loudly! (And it's not the one you're thinking of!) -- Also look for more people to be let into "Who's the daddy?" Melodrama including Sonny AND Carly... who exactly will let the fur fly first?? Well, Amelia gets the ball rolling by filling Jason in on Sam's obsession/plan to get Baby Jake away from Liz. -- Tracy will be arrested for aiding and abeiting after Luke kidnaps Laura (following the outcome of the trial). Lulu will bail her out of jail. -- You know how Scott has gotten punched/slapped by Bobbie and Nikolas and Luke lately.. look for Logan to take up the cause pretty soon. -- Sam's paranoia/obsession deepens as she confesses to Amelia "if she can't have Jake, then he should just disapear!" -- Jake is snatched on Friday, June 15th, the day after Sam gets the bad news regarding her new set of fertility tests for surrogacy -- Lucky will learn the truth about his "son" during the aftermath of the kidnapping. -- Speaking of baby kidnappings, look for a theme this summer as Jerry will threaten Skye with making Lila disappear (to a nice loving adoptive family ;) ) -- Nik continues to look for revenge against Jerry and will hire a PI to find a suddenly missing Jerry. -- Jax's departure this summer (Ingo's summer vacation) will definitely be because of Jerry. As Jax learns Jerry's motivations this entire time involve a matter that is important to the both of them.

Re: New Thread | ||

Okay. I see it's a new thread. It's a new day. It's a new episode. And still Robin and Patrick continue to discuss his flirting tendancies and her judgmental controlling.
These writers have no fucking clue what to do with these two, do they? Gee, I wonder if they will move in together. Perhaps we'll get a discussion or two about that. |

How do you suppose the Jax family got one kid with an Australian accent and the other an English? Hmmm.

What? A new thread and everyone disappears??
Yes I know the show sucks lately... and it will likely get worse before it gets better . . . but that's no reason to stop posting :P |

Gawd, I hate all of those spoilers, save the one that indicates a growing closeness between Lulu and Tracy.
Somehow, GH writers are perfecting a way to both beat storylines into dead horse territory AND ruin the characters involved. Even the rape reveal was poorly done ... so many missed opportunities there. I'm barely watching an eppy a week now. The Jerry ruse that Jax and Carly is sickening ... the payoff better be surprising and give justifiable reason for why Craigerry did what he did. Otherwise, the Jax character is ruined too. |

Yikes! I've been MIA for a couple of weeks and return to find this new thread. Why did this happen?
Regarding the show, Sam is on my last nerve. It's understandable that she'd be furious that her live-in love has fathered a child with someone else. What's testing my patience is her insistance on not confronting him about it while she plots to have a baby to save her relationship. Because as we all know, babies do nothing but solve your problems. |

This show is continuing to be The Suck..the baby storyline, the Sonny /Connie , aww shucks, Carly's mad thing sucks.
But today, with the obvious tenderness shared between Spinelli and Lulu...when she shared her pain of LukeRape and her seething anger/disappointment was great. YET, GH writers seem to be pairing Lu with that twit Logan, just to create the future tension with the spawn of Spencer and (duh) Baldwin. And what's with the Spinelli beatdown/ Lulu forced kiss show ender today? Sheesh. They toned down Spinelli-as-stoner dweeb, cleaned him up a bit, and made him entirely beliveable as a good dude for Lulu, yet they will mess this shit up. Bad enough with the insipid Maxie/dullard "Coop" ( hate that nik) pairing. Only the AlanGhost makes this a decent show for me of late.. |

Re: General Hospital- It's Monica's House, Damnit!

I dunno, hoss, I think that Logan isn't the end-all for Lulu. The earlier than expected apparent pairing is evidence that Logan's going to lead her to who she's supposed to be with. Mabye that's Spinelli ... hope so. Maybe this [small spoiler] deal with Maxie where Logan has to bed Lulu will lead to Logan being too forceful with the girl ... i.e. too close to the Luke/Laura beginnings for comfort ... thereby sending Lulu away from CloseEyes for good.

When did Maxie get long hair? Holy extensions! And I can't stand the Logan character, he sucks, and the actor sucks, and the storyline sucks.

Watching Maxie and Logan today was like watching the beginning of a porno... making a deal resulting in one person HAVING to sleep w/ the other. Please. BJ's heart deserves a better storyline.
Although I think the actress overacts a bit, I like the Sonny/Kate story so far. A little amusing. Elizabeth and Lucky are just stupid tohether. I think I just can't stand the actor playing Lucky. They need Jonathan Jackson back or someone who looks like him. He just doesn't look like he'd be Luke's son. The Jax family storyline is just redonkulous. Cooper is a hunk. Otherwise, it was a good day on GH! BTW, cleaning out my folks garage, I found a box of my books from way back. In it was the Melrose Place companion and Robin's Diary for Stone!! Those were the good ole days! |

Re: General Hospital- It's Monica's House, Damnit!

You know, my admiration for the actress playing Lulu continues to grow. I loved the scenes today and yesterday with Spinelli, and some how, some way, Lulu seems to have chemistry with every actor she's paired with -- Even Coop! Coop, imo, is just eye candy and no acting substance, but magically when he was with Lulu today, I enjoyed his scenes!
Here's hoping that the actress wins numerous awards for being (one of) the only thing(s) worth watching on this show lately. (BTW, to the posters out there who like Connie Falconari ... does anyone else get a wierd sense of deja view?? The chemistry between Sonny and Kate is very similar, imo, to what he had with Brenda--and I'm liking it! First time in YEARS I actually like Sonny!) |

Quote: But these two are interchangable. They both look very similar. And loathe the "Coop" name. Going as far back as Loving with Roger Howarth as their "Coop". *gag* |

Roger played Kent. Michael Weatherly played Coop. (so sad that I know that)

^^ Ah yes! It was Howarth as preppy always snidely poking Coop. I stand corrected! ( Shoot, I liked Loving , lots)..then it was canned for that horrid The City. I still hold out hopes that Jeremy/John LeClair is trapped by a giant air bubble and living off of air!
(oh, not sad Dharmit! I still recall great stuff from Ryan's Hope and The Edge of Night!) |

Did I actually see Craigerry jump out a window???
I agree about the actress who plays Lulu. She's just got that "something". I think twice now I've heard Ric (is it with or without a "k"?)reference Sonny as "big brother". What's that all about? (Remember, after a 20-year GH hiatus, I've only been watching again since November.) |
