Did anyone watch Vacation Swap on Monday? It's pretty much similar to Wife Swap, except it's about two families swapping lives to go on vacations
together. The first episode was pretty good. I thought both families were open-minded and learned from their experiences.

I watched VS. There is a show like that on BBC and they usually don't end up so warm in fuzzy across the pond. In fact, they usually ending hating each
other.
I couldn't believe the noveau riche single mom with 4 gay sons - making them dress formal for dinner while on vacation? I didn't like them at all, but at least they learned something. They were really rude and judgmental - and they didn't seem to know what makes a person "classy". |

Vacation Swap sucked.

Vacation Swap was a repeat. I saw it in the TV section and thought they were bringing it back since ABC had tried this concept w/ a few episodes way back
whenever as a spinoff to Wife Swap and when I tuned in immediately realized it was a repeat. Way to take old aired episodes and re-air them ABC and try to act
like it's new.

The kids in Utah were so depressed and voiceless, so minimized. I hated those parents deeply. Years of therapy await those poor children. |

Um yeah...years of EXPENSIVE therapy that they can easily afford because they'll be successful with that work ethic she's driven into them.
The skater girl is going to be pregnant in less than 2 years by one of those jobless hoodlums and future inmates that her parents carelessly let her hang with. Besides, by the end, she realized there is more to life than essays and piano lessons. She even took them to a skater park. She learned from the experience and the kids will benefit. The skater people learned squat and haven't changed at all. Utah>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Arizona.

I don't think the Utah kids will have the self-esteem to be successful. They will probably be able to support themselves and not be on welfare, unlike the
skater kids, but I can't imagine that they would be making a lot of money. Regardless, the best choice between being adopted into either of these families
is drowning.
Did you notice that no one wore shoes in the Utah house? Can't mess up the precious carpet! |

I'd rather live with the Arizona family any day. I want to be able to celebrate my birthday, not be forced into piano lessons, have to write an essay if
my overly strict parents disapprove of something I do (even though I'm a great kid and they should be thankful) and be slave.

One other thing - yes, the Utah mom was trying to have some fun with her kids. But, when the little boy did a trick with his skateboard, she said, "Can
you do it twice?" Still, nothing they do will ever be good enough.
Jonze, you are right. They were great kids and she should be thankful. I think she was, a little bit, after she saw the slovenly bunch in the Arizona family. But she didn't seem to want to acknowledge how great they were, only that they follow her rules. Something else I couldn't figure out is why the Arizona family let the daughter be the queen bee. Was there something special about her? I also wasn't clear on the other kids. Were some of the boys their sons? |

This was one of the better episodes since unlike w/ the others, none of the parents caused seeting hate in me from ignorance or a complete ass backwards way of
thinking which can be so overwhelming at times that it's just not worth watching.
I surprisingly liked the crazy spiritual family. Yeah, they are nuts but the kid adjusted fairly easy to working, the clearly love one another and are happy as a family. The pig farming family annoyed me at 1st b/c of their clear lack of caring about their daughter's wants and emotional needs but at the end they actually got rid of the pig farming altogether which shocked me so now I kind of like them as well. |

The spiritual dad was hot, the daughter was adorable and suprsingly well-rounded for someone that spoiled and the mom didn't annoy me as much as other
flakey moms have in the past. I liked and was also suprised that the uptight family made the big changes that they did.. they seemed to be ones that would be
set in their ways. Good on them.

I'm glad the pig farmers changed their ways. A few things bothered me about them:
1. They apparently found anything too sexy and it seemed like it scared them 2. The mom taking away the fairies from the little girl. She's 11 - she's allowed to play and have fairies in her room 3. Telling the Dad that his beliefs are made up - who is she to decide? And can we quit having these people go into other peoples' homes demanding that they give their personal property away to charity? Stripper costumes are expensive (last week) and this week, she wanted to give away the little girl's costumes. Would anyone reimburse these people if the crackpots got their way? |

There were definate cultural differences, I like how each family influenced the other a little bit. Spitting llamas_______yuck!

Making the fence disappear might be a clever idea.
What I have in mind for this killjoy shrew is more like that magic trick where the magician saws through the box with the lady inside. Except ... The trick goes horribly wrong. |

that dad whisking off his daughter reminded me of a cult reprogramming.
the fact that they named her Columbia is too funny. I guess they have never watched the rocky horror picture show. crazy religous people scare me so much. |
