All his chauvenistic, bullheaded and piggyness aside, I found it most hypocritical when Jake said it's all about family now and they'll go back to
being the couple they were when the kids are gone. OK, they've never had a birthday party and do his bidding on the trucks. WTF is about the kids in that
house?
I'm calling bullshit when the kids go. He'll have the wife cleaning and changing the oil. Nasty ass gives us southerners a bad name. Another example off topic for a minute......my sis lives in Nashville and was fussing about the hicks being chosen to interview about the tornado damage. I reassured her that it was so the other victims (Miss, Ala, Ark) could relate. |

My heart really goes out to Debby...usually I go away from the show feeling bad for the kids...I just can't believe this woman has so much kindness
and grace after 20 years of having her soul crushed by that worthless pig.
I'm hoping since ColbyFan has is in the neighborhood and sees them at festivities, we'll get an update. I hope she spends whatever money she gets from the show on getting her kitchen fixed. Not on truck parts. |

Jake was hideous in every way. It was surprising because Debby seemed fairly strong and like she could stick up for herself... not sure why she has let him
treat her like that for so long. And it was just sad how he had the kids brainwashed. They were all so disrespectful and unappreciative of their mom.
I was prepared to hate "cool mom" (can't remember her name) but I actually liked her. |

She was not being 'brainwashed' into wanting something else in life. You could really tell that after her dad took her out of the house, and after she game back, she was not a happy girl. It's scary. 1) Why can't the older daughters date other Fundie Christian boys?
2) Poor Columbia. Even if she wants to be a doctor she never will be able to because the Bible-based home-schooling will leave her severely lacking in science. 3) Poor Columbia #2. What the hell did that controlling moster do to her when they drove off without the camera? If he just wanted to have a heart-to-heart/ prayer session with her why couldn't the camera follow? Because HE BEAT HER. 4) Non-Fundie Mom gets my vote for Top Five Most Normal Women this show has ever seen. 5) What is going to happen if oen of the daughters marry a nice Bible-thumping boy and then he gets killed leaving her with 6 hungry kids? She won't be able to work as anything but a domestic or a professional Bible-reader and will be completely screwed. 6) What if one of the daughters wants to serve Christ by being a nurse or a teacher...Is that wrong? 7) Mr. Mom Dad should never have tried talking to the Blue-collar guys. 8) I loved it when he was explaining the way Medieval people prayed and she was all like "but where is that in the scripture?!?!?" Guess what, you stupid bitch...the Bible does not say that you have to wear suit or dresses to church but people do it anyway! 9) In the Bibleland Family how was it that all of the daughters were pretty and the son was so butt-ugly? You could tell something was different about her when she came back. And I'm getting really sick of the families deciding 'not' to do the rule change, and acting as if trying something new for only a week is just the end of the world. Do they really think they are going to switch places with a family that is just like them? I know it makes for good drama when they over-react to rule changes, but sometimes I just want to smack them and tell them to put on their big-girl panties and deal with it. I've heard that each wife gets 50 k to give to the other family and tells them how to divvy it up. I sincerely hope the normal mom would allocate 10k to each girl's college education. Or even all of it to Columbia's college education since she is the only that expressed any interest in being something other than a baby dispenser/maid. |

Wow. I've never felt so bad for the kids on this show than I did last night. That guy is really, really creepy. And the way his wife would apologize
(through te.ars no less!) to Mr. Momdad was just sickening.
