The catwalk reality series will bring back Teutonic hostess Heidi Klum, "make-it-work" mentor Tim Gunn, and judges Michael Kors and Nina Garcia, and feature 16 new contestants vying to make it all the way to Fashion Week. Lifetime also announced that it would unveil a new companion series titled Models of the Runway, which will air directly after Project Runway at 11p.m. The 30-minute show will give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the Project Runway competition from the vantage point of the models.

The obvious reason they are waiting though is because they want to promo the hell out of the show. Half the people I know who watch this show dont even know that a season has already been shot and is waiting to be aired.

My first guess is that they're trying to time it so that they can run this season and the next one close to one another, to try to coincide with the necessary Fashion Week for the ending of the following season, but I can't even start trying to contemplate the number of weeks in a season, and stuff. Anyone?
