Amanda Lepore is beyond drag though. She's like walking, talking performance art.

Carboy, Dina Martina is...well there are no words to describe. She performs in NYC a couple times a year too. I had to try to explain to my friends there what she was all about before they saw her, and I couldn't. I just said to go her for yourselves. They now love her too. Brilliant and insane.

That was an awesome interview! She has a great eye. And she is so right that none of them are particularly talented. It seems they all have the "point of view" that making wacky strange clothing is somehow new and different. And every single one of them keeps saying "I know I'm talented" Says who? With the exception of Stella and maybe Korto and Terri I think they all suck. Blayne's designs so far have been horrible. And you were all complaining about Ricky last season. He was better than most of these hacks.

I have seen Dina Martina, but am not a huge fan. 60% of the act is awesome, but the rest seems weird for the sake of being weird. Just watched the Hedda Lettuce youtubes... and she has def got a point, hammered home too many times, about being "the client." Nina used to harp on that, but she kinda lost the "remember the client thing" this year, huh? Speaking of, when would they have even HAD a DQ challenge before? Nina is so hell bent on "taste," after all.

My first thought when I heard there were going to be drag queens was her...she runs circles around most of the other nyc drag queens.

Yes, some of her show went way out there, and I could tell that many of her jokes were puzzling to some in the audience. I know for sure the young ones had no idea what all those Smiths songs were about or that those really were indeed the accurate lyrics. Hedda Lettuce was in P-town too, but we did not go see her show.

If you are in a big city there will surely be some. If not, look at the gay bar ads. They'll usually have one or two that will have a drag show on certain nights. Camp Drag is the fun stuff.....like the queens on Project Runway. They crack jokes and are more theatrical. The other Drag, the ones that are "serious" female-wannabe's, are boring. All they do is lip synch and barely move because they don't want to mess up their hair. Yawn.
