All they needed to do was design a sportswear outfit that would be flattering on all sizes, not too revealing and make it red white and blue. Is that so hard?

You know, I'm really getting annoyed with these people. Not only are they not designers of the caliber of the contestants from previous seasons,
they're also just plain not as smart. How many times did Apollo Oh No say...athletes...representing the US...Olympics... I mean come on people. What was some of that shit they
sent down the runway?
As obnoxious as Joe is, he should have won that challenge. He's the only one whose outfit embodied the idea behind the challenge. I agree with the top three only because it was slim pickins from all that garbage, but meh, cute as Terri and Korto's outfits may have been, I don't know. Actually I didn't even find Korto's outfit cute. Those high-waisted, wide-legged pants...meh. I suppose it was ok, but I just don't find pants like that flattering on anyone. Terri's outfit was better than Korto's IMO, because I saw more USA in that design and it was sort of dressed up but sporty all the same. The fit on the top underneath was "insane", though. |

ok, that's it...Stella is definitely being kept around for the amusement factor...a outfit with belly button showing? and didn't even get in the bad
group
and the American team always wear Red White and Blue in the uniform |

Actually I didn't even find Korto's outfit cute. Those high-waisted, wide-legged pants...meh. I suppose it was ok, but I just don't find pants like that flattering on anyone. And the fact they were made out of linen made me go "WTF"? yeah, if we want to see our athletes at the ceremonies all wrinkled and $hit, then go for it. |

I really think they are throwing this season under the bus.. the production crew are terminated, they are moving to Lifetime and LA (scary right there) and
well why bother with any effort. These "designers" are boring and not all that great in creativity or pushing boundries - personal or professional.
Terri strikes me as the most professional of the lot although she was eyeing Apolo in a cougar like way.. go girl!!! But the rest I can't even tell who is who... even Teri is "one of the black women" and by that I mean that other guy with the Barbie outfit.. Then we had the two interchangeable geek girls with bangs.. one left thank god.. she thought the challenge was wear something to an Olympic funeral. Joe, the requesite hetero comes off more uber bitchy than the gayz.. his problem is not with Queens although read this thread you would think so.. but with the young'uns.. Almost everyone is 23 years old! And if you read this thread between that and the gays you see my point. Daniel is too busy fretting over the bofo gone to even realize he is out of his element.. but god I don't even remember the bofo how sad is that and anyone wearing crocs should not be on a design show.. reason enough to get auf'd.. How they got together instantly like that given their bland personalities is well either not surprising or is. We have the blonde tatted chick, the young urban retro chick, the weird mohawk dude and thank god for Stella... no wonder they keep trying to shove faux surfer dude Blayne down our throat.. at least he spent weeks trying out expressions and finding a character.. true from what I heard not far from his own but at least the tries... but again he is 23 and a dull character at that... been there done that with Jay/Christian do we need another "Jack" I mean Will and Grace is off the air. This season is not a fitting send out and deserves better. Any contestant on this show has to know that challenges will be given to them that are out of their comfort range, etc and adults push pass that but kidlets just stand there waiting for mumsy to take them to the next soccer game.. .it shows how coddled young people are nowadays.. clueless and arrogant. But then some people think Miu Miu is Muumuu... christ. |

Should we get off your lawn also?
its not their age (case in point: christian), just that they're fucking retarded with design and devoid of personality. |

Is it just me or is this the season of the majority of designers, just not getting it?
Week 1 with all the table cloths & shower curtains Week 2, so so designs Week 3 seemed to be dresses that just had a bunch of shit sewn onto them Week 4 an Olympic outfit with half the people not using the US colors & the other half somehow setting it in the 40's This bunch seems to be treating the show like a summer sewing camp rather than a competion that could boost their careers |

If I had a lawn.. yes... and Blayne is available... why is that not a shock either. Ah the vapidity and arrogance of the young.. makes me realize why I also had to quit fucking them they weren't good at that either. |

Terri's got this quasi 70's Charlies Angel's wardrobe vibe to her that I'm liking so far. (What is it with Bravo and Charlie's Angels
lately.) That tube top/bustier was too damn small for that model, hence the flesh poppin up, out and over on top. I loved that blazer, though.
Any pant that high waisted will make the flattest tummy look like it's got a bump. Just a fact. I hate those things. The really wide legs will be good for the uber muscles of the female Olympians, however. I don't think Korto should have won either. And I think she focuses on ridding the show of the Joe next week, as she's got immunity and appears to be throwing another temper tantrum. I liked Joe's outfit just fine - skort 'n all. Skort was reminiscent of a tennis skirt. Tennis is a summer sport. This is Summer Olympics. Check. I liked it and would have been happier if the came down to being between him and Terri, with Korto just being safe. Jerrell has got some real cartoony views of women's clothing. Hookers to Lucille Ball so far. I hope there's a Tank Girl in the future some where. I hate Blayne. And stop making Tim say "Holla atchya boy." Stop it right now. There really was a lot of stupid shit created in that episode. |

Is it wrong that this week...I actually liked Stella's garments? Okay, it didn't scream "Olympics" but it was the best thing she's pulled
out so far (although I didn't mind the leather last week).
While Jennifer's was nowhere near Olympics, Jerrell/Jerel/Jewel of the Nile's abomination, I felt, deserved to lose. In no way did it represent the US in any modern terms, and it was NOT athletic (unless Croquet suddenly appeared in the Olympics...) |

Wow, so everyone really hates this season? I'm enjoying 500 times more than last season. I can barely even remember that Rami and Jillian were in the
Final 3 with Christian and can name NO one else. At least this season they're spreading the wealth with airtime. Some guy sashaying around and saying
"bitches" or "fierce" every 5 seconds is less interesting than these people.
Kenley and Stella are designing GODESSES and Blayne has weirdly grown on me, and then theres people to hate like that douche Suede. This season > last, definitely. |

When Suede said wackadoodle again, I actually screamed at my TV, "OH, SHUT THE FUCK UP ALREADY." I cannot
stand that motherfucking poseur or his blue fauxhawk or his ugly ass face. I want him auf. I want him auf so bad.

They have a lot better personalities this season, and luckily they've been booting only boring people so far. Elisa was the only person to root for last season, and she got 10th place. The last like, 9 weeks of season 4 were PAINFULLY slow and boring. It seemed like it would never end. I'm guessing most people in this thread care more about the designs than the people though, since that's all anyone seems to talk about. I can understand hating this season if that's the case, but I'd take 15 crazies who can't even sew over 15 top notch designers with no personality anyday. The only thing I really hate about this season so far is that they don't have the hilariously awful opening credits.
"OH MY!"

I don't hate the season; there are some good personalities for sure (although I HATEHATEHATE Blayne and Wackadoodle with the intensity of a thousand
burning suns). Which is fine. I need someone to despise on a show like this.
I just don't think the level of talent is anywhere near what we have seen before on this show, and that's disappointing to me. |

Thought you guys would like to see what Ralph Lauren designed for this year. OMG - yes, it's a spoiler. So if you are going to watch the Olympics and you
want the clothes to be a surprise - don't look....
Polo Ralph Lauren to design athletes' uniforms for '08 OlympicsUpdated Wednesday, April 30th 2008, 4:22 PM The U.S. Olympic Team's new uniforms will be designed to mark them not only as American athletes in Beijing this summer, but also as diplomats of sorts. Polo Ralph Lauren is the official outfitter to the Olympic and Paralympic teams this year, replacing the Canadian brand Roots, which had done the athletes' looks for the 2006 Games. "They (The USOC) came to us looking for something distinctly Ralph Lauren - they had seen what we'd done with the U.S. Open and Wimbledon," said David Lauren, senior vice president of advertising, marketing and communications for Ralph Lauren. "Their vision was do something elegant, refined and appropriate - very 'Chariots of Fire.' We saw the Olympics as a chance to put America out as statesmen, the athletes as representatives of our country and our way of being," said Lauren, also the designer's son. With all the planning that has gone into the Beijing Olympics, the apparel deal wasn't done until December. It started with former NBC newsman Tom Brokaw, a friend of Ralph Lauren's, approaching the designer about an "opportunity" with the Olympics, Lauren recalled. The challenge, he said, was in the volume: There are more than 1,000 athletes who need outfits for the highly visible opening and closing ceremonies as well as the rest of the 22 days. The inspiration for the new styles came from the days of Jesse Owens, in an era before track suits became essentially the uniform for Olympians around the world, Lauren said. "We wanted to reference the glory days of the Olympics and then bring it to a very modern silhouette," he said. "It's a combination of looking back and looking to the future." The looks range from classic polo shirts with graphic Chinese lettering that read "Beijing," to tennis and cricket sweaters paired with ties. Sketches of the designs also have a very dignified vibe. "It's a full array - it's like putting together an entire collection. It's not just a funky hat or shirt," Lauren said. He added: "When an athlete wears them, the clothes truly come alive." Fans can have their turn in most of the styles. For example, the white walking shorts and sweater vests tipped with red and blue that the male athletes will wear around the Olympic Village or the white polo shirt with both a red and blue stripe on the collar and armbands that is part of the closing ceremony outfit for the female Olympians will be available to the public beginning in June. The opening ceremony styles, however, won't be revealed until Aug. 8. Designers kept in mind swimmers and basketball players and everyone in between, Lauren said. "It's their heroics, spirit, energy and commitment that inspired us." That said, some adjustments had to be made since Ralph Lauren is more accustomed to dressing models and country clubbers than wrestlers. "There was a fantastic list of scenarios," Lauren said with a laugh. "There were men who are taller than the Statue of Liberty."

I'm actually enjoying this season more than last season, I dunno, something about this cast just makes me feel more invested in them. Last season, I
stopped watching around half way, this season i feel I could stay with it until fashion week.

"two" next week since they didn't say so in previews for shock/anticipatory purposes, but I wish they would. With 14 designers, this season is
going to go too long no matter how entertaining it might turn out to be.

Oh and I actually love when they make horrendous designs. Fashion is boring to me so it's more fun when there's something to laugh at. So obviously I
LOVED Jerrell's Bo Peep number. What was especially awesome was how pissed off his model looked that she had to wear that shit. <3
<3 That's right up there with Wendy Pepper's candy dress and Santino's reindeer fetish lingerie. |

I still liked Joe's outfit the best of them all. Especially since it transforms to a men's version very easily. I actually liked Blayne's outfit
too.. The bottom three were perfectly hideous, but the overall loser really did need to go.. she didn't use ANY representative colors in the outfit.
Blayne's bronze medal line was funny. Suede talked about himself in the 3rd person again.. it was a small throwaway line in the background.. tool. I think Tim is actually trying too hard this season to fit in his "make it work" line. Last night it seemed like he mentally paused and thought "oh.. I have to say it now." |
