Season Finale question ... SPOILER!!!

What happened after Tommy went to his wife's house and it was empty?? What did I miss? My stupid VCR cut off... UGH!
I know it plays other days but I need to know now! Thanks! |

Tommy trashed the place, found a bottle of Vodka, and started drinking. That's all.

Season Finale question . . SPOILER!!
|
Yikes. Taking off in the middle of the night is harsh enough. But to destroy the picture like that? Janet's just as sick as Tommy. I remember thinking when she asked for the first payment for the mortgage/car/AmEx that it sounded a little high. But I live in a co-op vs a house, so I thought maybe I don't know a lot about house mortgages. Or she had a really high AmEx bill.
And why do they have to have the one female firefighter taking care of Franco's daughter? Why couldn't his dedicated buddy Sean take care of her while Laura found solace in the arms of her date? |

I just saw the episode where the gf threw a firebomb into his house.
Can anyone tell me approx where in the season that is? I've never seen the show before and I thought it was excellent. I'd like to know if I got started near the beginning of the season or towards the end. Can anyone tell me? This show has so many excellent attributes, it is hard to know where to begin in praising them all. I just think it is very close to being the best new drama on TV in a long time. I always liked Leary - except for that awful movie he made with Sandra Bullock (about the art thieves). I was very disappointed they cancelled his cops TV series. It was great entertainment. |

Please? Can anyone tell me about this show?
Do you recognize the episode I described in the above post? Can you tell me where approx it occurred in the season? I realize I'm bumping my own post. It's been 36 hours. But if no one can help me, I won't bump it again for a week. |

Ooga, I think that episode is near the beginning, but I could be wrong. I love the show too. If the Bravo website still has a page for Rescue Me, there may be an episode guide that can tell you where this episode is in the lineup. It's well worth watching whatever episodes you can, even if the sequence isn't right; I think they all hold up on their own.

Thanks Babs,
I've watched that episode three times now and it just keeps getting better and better. Please excuse me for flipping out like this, but I would love to recommend that anyone who appreciates quality TV should see this show - especially this episode. It was incredibly excellent. I know that what I'm going to say will sound nuts to most of you. But I hope you will find some way to see this show. There were a few scenes in that single episode that have to rate in my top ten list of the best TV scenes ever made - like when the gf is kicking his car, and when he can't remember her name and his wife is laughing at him, when his daughter asked him, "Daddy? What's a whore?", and when the truth is revealed about the post-traumatic stress disorder group, and when that beautiful little girl said, "Thank you daddy for coming to get me." I am not really a soft-hearted person, but my heart just melted at that. I defy any "tough guy" out there to say that moment did not melt his heart. So I'd just like to recommend that to anyone who is interested because all the people who were involved in creating that moment deserve recognition and applause. There were a few other scenes that were almost as good. I just can't remember off hand. This might be the best new TV series I've seen in years and what a lesson in the difference between what talented pros can do with scripted TV vs. Reality TV. There is just no comparison if the scripted TV professionals do it right. |

I forgot to ask about the opening song.
I don't recognize it and it may have been specially written for this show. Can anyone help me if you know who performed the song and if it's available on any CDs? I also want to tell anyone who's interested that my opinion is that the scene where the gf arrives at his house up to and including where she is kicking his truck is the single best scene I have ever seen in any TV show. The show also contains a few other scenes that are very close to being number one. I can't believe I missed this show when it was having its original run. I want to encourage anyone who has not seen it and who enjoys adult humor and adult situations to find a way to see it. It's just the best ever. |

The theme song is The Von Bondies "C'mon, C'mon". The CD it's on is "Pawn Shoppe Heart"

Hey Ooga! I loved every episode myself.
The episode you describe was called revenge and originally aired on 8/25/04. There were 13 episodes in the first season and it looks like it has been picked up for a second season. I don't know if you are in Canada or the US. The US season is over and the Canadian season is about midway. You can go to www.tvtome.com for some episode descriptions. There is also some information on the FX website. |

Anyone know when this series starts up again? I thought it was supposed to be sometime this month. I tried checking FX's website, but my ancient PC and dial up connection couldn't handle the site well enough to load it. I tried Googling it and looking in TV Guide, but all I get are statements that it's been renewed or the Cheers "Rescue Me" episode. Thanks.

Nice website but it says nothing about future air dates. I'm sure they'll promo the hell out of the new season when it gets close.

Can't wait! I think it's one of the most original things on TV today. Love it!!!! My ex was a cop, so I can really relate to all the macho BS. (I know, I know, they're not all like that--but unfortunately, a lot of them are.)

Season 2 premiere June 21st at 10pm. I'm reluctant to watch as they're trying so hard to shove it down our throats.
