I'm in Canada so the show hasn't premiered here yet (it premieres on Showcase on September 28th).
I did download and watch the first 4 episodes though. This show is amazing, a lot like The Job (which really needs a widespread dvd release) except a lot more dramatic. Wonderful show, nonetheless. |

I watched 2 more old episodes last night, and even stayed up past my bedtime because I enjoyed it so much. I LOVE THIS SHOW! I've added it to my "must watch" list which includes Nip/Tuck and Reno 911.

Add me to the fans of this show. Denis Leary is wonderful, I have always liked him, it's great to see him in such a cutting edge show.
I should have known that Fuzzy and Mimi and I would like the same show. |

I can't wait to see tonights show. Mel says that someone is supposed to die! I missed the preview, who do you guys think it will be? My first thought was that older firefighter that posted the list of people he would kill if he found out he had prostrate cancer cause they haven't really developed his character yet!

I guess I saw the preview, but I don't remember it. My husband says I saw it though. I guess my subconscious remembered it though since it was billy that died.
That three way thing last week was a riot! And the dick length and girth thing tonight was pretty good. The daydream about 911 at the beginning was intense. I hate when Tommy does stuff like beat up that guy cause the whole point of the show is to hope he gets it together. When he goes off on someone like that you kinda cheer him on but it is a reminder of how on the edge he is. Guess I am just sad cause that Billy guy would have been a good character and it was sad to see him die. So that song while they were carrying Billy out - I have to know what it was! eta - I found the song it was All I Can Do by Tyrone Wells - I guess other songs from the same album were played on some others eps. |

I'm so afraid for this show...it started out really well, but now I'm wondering if every show is going to turn into some dick measuring, ball waxing foolishness like Nip/Tuck. Every episode of Nip/Tuck turned into: "Did Julia come with you?" "We came together." "I'm so hard." Yawn.
Let's get back to these guys putting out fires. |

This is a tribute to Leary's monumental ego, not to firemen, and he is making them look like scum. 90 % of the show is about sex. the times you actually see them fighting fires is ferw and far between. Add Six Feet Under's patented talking to the dead gimmick. What is so cutting edge about seeing Dennis Leary slam some whore? You can see that anywhere, and it doesn't take genius to write. And Tommy should have been put in jail a long time ago. remember, in Falling Down, Michael Douglas dies.

I really don't care about the "firemen" angle ... to me the show is not about firemen and fires, it's about a bunch of people and their problems and issues and foibles. Who can't relate to Tommy obsessing over his ex-wife's new boyfriend and trying to screw things up between them? I think the depiction of the relationships between the firemen, and between Tommy and his ex-wife and kids, is funny as hell and often painfully accurate.
