My only complaint about this whole program is the MASSIVE amount of filler that is presented instead of letting us see the actual performers, be they terrific or terrible. We don't need to see repeated footage of the people who are waiting to audition. And skip the mini-biographies/ confessionals: who the F* cares about these peoples' life stories at this point in the contest; save the human interest factor stories for when the initial cuts have been made and we are into the head-to-head competition phase. Considering that each act is only allowed what amounts to 90 seconds before the judges to demonstrate their talent (or delusions), in a two-hour show we ought to see dozens of acts/ performers, instead of just over a handful.

That having been said, the Russian trio was amazing, and the 23-yr old Elvis impersonator was fabulous, too. He sounded just like Elvis, there's nothing wrong with his looks, he just needs to work on his dance moves which seemed awkward for the most part. The "Sound of Music" family has a lot of potential, but I thought musically they hit a lot of sour notes and vocally they were flat a number of times as well. But that can be overcome with practice.

I wonder what happened to last year's runner-up, the heavy-set young man who was such a good singer....anybody know?
