Meanwhile Meredith is going to have to stop being a pill to Derek. He cannot get together with her sister because then he won't be McDreamy, he'll be McIcky & I can't have that. But I can't have her walking all over him anymore either.

I predict that George will be a paramedic next season. Just my two cents... it's a way to keep him in & out of the hospital & still in the med field. He'd be great at it. Otherwise he's going to have to take over the bar while Joe's busy with the babies...

Sandra is amazing! <3
So is Callie chief? Or was she lying? Richard offered Derrick the job and he turned it down... im confused. |

Callie is Chief Resident, and the Chief offered Derek the Chief of Surgery position. There's a difference- after all, Callie isn't even an attending yet.

With Lexi on the show now they can get rid of Meredith and still call it Grey's Anatomy! :P

OK so my tape cut off when Burke and Derek were at the altar chatting...I thought I didn't miss much but it seems like I did. Can anyone give me a short recap?

I didn't even know Callie was a resident until last ep. How come she acts like an attending? She's never seen with an ortho attending. Plus, her and Addison were friends. Why wasn't Bailey picked? That's just wrong.
I thought Merideth's step mom died from a perforation in the esphogus and that made her septic. Am I mixing up my TV diagnoses? BTW, her "sister" seems pretty happy for someone who just lost their mother. Out at a bar, checking out the hospital (where she died!!!). No issues there. Alex. Heartbreaker. Can't believe Burke did that. Fucker. I know Izzie is a homewrecker but I love her. Callie shouldn't be trying to have a baby to save her marriage. And I think she lied. They so didn't have sex. George can't get it up b/c he failed his test. I so knew the Chief would stay Chief. But how does Adele feel about that? I think she won't mind. That was a sweet storyline. |

Quote: Now if Lexi starts doing voice overs Meredith better be nervous LOL Poor George.... but not really. So who has been chief resident for this current group of interns? It was Bailey right? Why did she get replaced by Callie? Callie is SOOOOO gonna bust up Izzie and snap George's neck when she realizes what's going on... this is going to get good! |

Loved this finale, especially coming after the Ugly Betty finale, which I didn't like as much. Storylines were wrapped up, but in a way that allowed them to be revisited next year and changed. So my interest remains high for what happens next, but I don't feel manipulated with corny cliffhangers where I don't know what happens. This was very very good. Sandra Oh is a goddess.

George is still a Dr, he's just not going to be a surgeon. He could take over as a general practicioner at the clinic.

I knew one of the interns was going to fail!
Burke's reason for breaking up with Christina made no sense. Postponing the wedding maybe--but breaking up with her altogether? Too weird. Worse, now everyone thinks that it was Christina who chickened out. |

Loved Sandra and Chandra as usual. I thought it was fucked up how Burke left her in the church, thinking that he'd misjudged her, but then she declared "I'm free" and pitched a hot fit trying to get out of the dress and the choker. Guess he wasn't so wrong after all.
The apartment scene was really, really well done. |

What a fantastic, surprising finale. This show really came into its own, and back to form tonight. Loved the twist with the new interns, George's test results, Callie becoming Chief. All completely unexpected, and I'm anxious to see where this all leads.
I did find the wedding a tad anti-climactic, and I'm assuming Washington is indeed off the show now. All that said, it did lead to one of the most powerful scenes of the season with Christina and Mer in Burke's apartment. Emmy, Oh. Oh, Emmy. |

That was some good television.
Sandra Oh in the final minutes was nothing short of spectacular. TR Knight in a suit...FUCK.A.BLE. I'd hit it one million times and then another one million times. Kate Walsh should have gotten a proper goodbye than merely appearing in the pews at the would-be wedding. At least McSleazy (Eric Dane) didn't get the job. I hate that character so much. |

So does Burke leave Christina AND Seattle Grace?
Methinks next season does a "2 months later" beginning to explain Addison's disappearance, Burke's MIA status (if he does leave the show), Christina's readjustment, the Chief's marriage resolving and taking on the responsibility that led to his problems, etc. Overall a VERY satisfying and well done season finale. I'm glad they didn't do the "big emergency/who dies" cliffhanger... this redeems the whack episodes. |

Just chiming in to say I loved the episode too. It resolved enough aspects while still leaving several (Izzie/Geore/Callie and Meredith/Derek) open.
Never liked Burke's character so I'm not going to miss him if he is in fact gone for good. Thats how I interpreted that though. Like everyone else said, Sandra Oh was amazing this episode. |

Quote: I'm curious as to whether he will be back next season. With Addison gone and McDreamy's new sordid triangle I don't see what else they can do with his character. I guess hey can give him a new love interest or have izzie run to his sexy arms because she can't have George but it looks like this character has served his course and putting him in the forefront will seem forced considering they having really given him any redeeming qualities (I mean he looks like a good fuck) or storylines (he's just a supportive sotry arc for Addison and Derek). |

^I wouldn't be surprised if McSteamy didn't come back, either. According to insiders this finale was supposed to set up a major cast purge.
