Then I came here and never left. Gushy threads don't go here unless they're 'not gushy' but more 'he's a bad mutherfucker' type. That's just the way it is at sucks and I don't think it's gonna change.So a thread goes to Clubs or LTS. So what? That's where it fits. Jack already has a thread with a sucks vibe here. Can't we all just get along? ;)

In our "old" thread, we could say what we liked and didn't like about a character and no one had a problem with it. Well, if they did have a problem with it that was fine as we all know everyone is entitled to their own opinion. My point is that people that liked a character (i.e. Jack) were allowed to do so. I'm not going to bash a character just because this is Sucks. Just like in our mega-thread, we should be able to post something we like about a character and it should be tolerated. BTW, I don't believe this thread was started with the intention of gushing over Jack. JMHO.

Can't we have a thread to appreciate the character? That's what this thread is for. It's not a gush-over-Jack thread but it is a place where people can come and discuss what Jack does on the show. I have no problem bashing a character when they do something they should be bashed for. But other then Jack maybe trying TOO hard, he's a good egg. He's only human...and I think they (the writers) are trying to get that point across, is all. People can have the same goals...but different opinions how to get there. That's how I see Jack and Locke. They both want what is best for everyone...but just go about it in different ways. The first season...Jack was abit unsure of himself...and his leading, whereas Locke seemed very comfortable with himself. But this season...we've seen Jack become more aggressive and Locke more unsure of himself and that has caused some of the conflict going on between the two of them. Some people I guess feel Jack is being like an egomaniac, but I don't see it that way at all. He's been thrust into a situation where alot of people rely on him...and I think he's just trying to live up to their expectations and his own for himself. He's said many times..he doesn't have a good bedside manner about him...and he's right about that. But knowing he has that problem, is half the problem of solving his problem. I'm sure he'll work on it, as he goes. :)Peggy

I like Jack, but I have no problem if someone else hates him. I don't "get" the Jack hate, but it doesn't offend me. I too see Jack as a guy who wants the best for everyone, and he feels that he knows what the best is... and that no one else there does~ besides possibly Sayid.

As for Jack being an Alpha this season, the rest of the Losties put him in that position. Once you're asked, "What should we do?" often enough you reach a point where you just act, rather than wait to be asked to act.

This thread is NOT clubbish to me. It's a discussion thread about a character. There are other character threads, so why does this one have to be so controversial? I've seen pics posted of Kate's backside with her booty cheeks hanging out and follow up posts about how fine that ass is, but does anyone see a picture of Jack's bulge 'round here? Anti is the admin so when ANTI finds a problem with this thread, I'll listen. Until then, I am not changing the name of the thread. I'll change it from time to time, but I don't understand why something negative HAS to be in the damn title just because this is Sucks. If that's the case, every other character thread should have a negative title... and they don't... unless they were all changed while I was gone the last 3 days. As for flaming, I don't give a shit how many posters want to come over here and bash Jack. I will probably ignore those posts. That's my prerogative. I'M BACK! edited because I left out a word and I'm too anal to let it slide...

The Losties played askjeeves.. I mean... jack way too much. And now some of them resent his position and defy him. He's probably the most confused person on the island. Actually I don't think there is a leader anymore. I have to disagree with posters who think he's a control freak. Maybe to a degree, but he didn't nut up when Sawyer took the guns. He kinda faded out until he got his chance to get what he wanted, which at that time was just the meds. (and wtf did Sawyer want with the meds anyway??)

Sawyer might have a tiny heart somewhere in there, but I can't see him letting anyone, especially Jack, beat him down in cards in front of an audience. If you wanna think Sawyer let him win because he wanted to give the meds back, but make Jack work for it - I think he could have found a way to degrade the doc some in the process rather than make Jack look (once again) like the "hero". And was Sawyer really SO sure Jack would want the meds and not the guns? Possibly, but still he questioned why he didn't ask for the guns. Someone even suggested Jack marked the cards. That woulda been funny as hell. The doc cons the con man. But wouldn't a con man smell a con? I don't think it went down that way. I think Jack kicked his ass fair and square. And not because I'm a Jack supporter, but because I think it was a bit of foreshadowing. There is much more to Jack's past. Even Sawyer was curious as to how/where Jack learned to play poker so well. I think that little journey after his divorce (including the tattoos) will be part of a backstory in season 3.

I thought for sure we were supposed to learn about Jack's tats before the end of the season. Oh well, I just hope the Michael-centric epi is better than his last one. Man, that was one HUGE piece of shat!
