I finally found my copy of Justin's studio version A Moment Like This. I wish I had a higher quality copy of it. And the other two.

Justin's version is interesting. I guess it's because I'm so used to Kelly's version but his voice sounds weak and thin on the song and it
doesn't fit the song at all IMO.
I do wonder if that song would still be played today like Kelly's version is.... |

Actually, it was the DJ who said he prefered Justin's version. None of the fanboards had any idea that they were playing the song of Z100 so it was the
spontaneous reaction of their listeners. And how boring and predicatable of you to '
Oh, and you're welcome.

I just thought it was funny that's all...I have the benefit of knowing how their careers turned out...that's why I find it amusing...not because I
don't understand their opinions or think they are entitled to them.
I heard quiet a few callers on the line saying they like Justin's better...said it was more romantic whereas Kelly's was more booming and powerful...which I would actually agree with. Both version are very good considering the song itself is utter crap. oh and thanks for the link...I've always wanted to hear his studio version, esp considering what an absolute shitfest his version was on the finale. It's good to see that he redeemed himself with some studio enhancements |

Thanks for the link, siren, another good one. The comment about singing "ee" was interesting.
As for AMLT, I actually thought it was a live shitfest for both Justin and Kelly (except the teary version when she won, which made me teary). Wasn't meant to be his kinda of song anyway, and she initially screamed it. However, I did like his live reworked version of Before Your Love (although, like AMLT, not favoring his style), and his contestant's choice of song. Two outta three ain't bad, considering how the night was orchestrated. Anyway, old news. Some new pics:

Sad, I was hoping that Justin's Before Your Love would be good. But it seems that both of them just didn't like that song.

I know AMLT and BYL are both sappy inspirational songs but they just need a diva to sing them right.Which was my point about how the night was orchestrated in general, and songs chosen that didn't favor his style. But, gawd, who cares at this point. That old game played by AI means nothing now. The guy's talented. Period. Listen to his new stuff. Or if you're not interested, don't listen... like I do with KimL Some pics from the latest TVG show:

While I can't stand either Justin or Kelly, I think Justin wiped the floor with Kelly on AMLT. It was supposed to be a romantic, soulful R&B track,
not an unlistenable diva screechfest. The problem was that the pitch was too high for Justin to really be able to sing to his fullest potential.
Unfortunately, the producers have a stupid "no rearranging the winners' single" mentality.
If only Tamyra had won like she should have. She would have done it up right. |

I strongly doubt Tamyra would screech her way through it like Yelly. A lot of her more R&B-style performances were very restrained.
