Seriously, when the fuck do they teach STRAIGHT marriage in schools? That argument is so stupid and I don't know why it works.
And besides, there are tons of taboo subjects that teachers don't talk about-- sex, their own political beliefs, their own religious beliefs, etc. Why can't gay marriage just be another off-limits discussion?
My biggest beef with the gay rights movement is that there has been no coordinated effort to dispel the silly arguments against gay marriage--arguments like "The government will make the church marry gays" or "They'll teach gay marriage in schools." I know the law in Maine specified that churches could do what they want, but when groups like the National Organization for Marriage pay for television ads which predict future "problems", there ought to be commercials which directly point out the idiocy of those arguments.
