Towers of Midnight will focus on Mat, Perrin, Elayne and any of the other plotlines that need to be resolved before the Last Battle. The rescue of Moiraine will almost certainly take place in this book. Egwene and Rand will play supporting roles in ToM. And then the final book will cover the events of The Last Battle, which should be a doozy. Since we're not going to be reading the ending of ASOIAF anytime in the next decade or so, this is the next best thing.

Unless he has some amazing character arc that comes out of nowhere, I think he could get the same treatment as he did in TGS. I think we will see more of Lan, more of Rand, a little of Elayne (seriously what does SHE have to do??), a LOT more of Aviendha and Mat's group being primary...

If Jordan had remained alive, I think this series would have bloated to 42 books. Gods bless you, Brandon SAnderson, even though you're apparently a Mormon freak, for speeding things along.

No, it's mostly Mallorean/Belgariad nostalgia. I really enjoyed the Mallorean especially. The characters were cliches', but they were fun cliche's. For some reason there are scenes from those books that are forever etched into my memory. And I really, really loathe Jordan after about book 6. I'd actually probably put Weis and Hickman up to the middle of the list. Not for the Dragonlance crap, but for the Deathgate Cycle and possibly even the Rose of the Prophet series.

I just wanted to post my appreciation that instead of the fifty billion tedious chapters about the Shaido, it's now about Cadsuane saying "pshaw!" I can deal with that. Anyway, I'm halfway done and am totally loving it. Way more fast-paced than the last couple, and I hate to say it, but Jordan dying is the best thing that could have happened to this series. RIP Nynaeve's hair braid tugging.
