There is something truly touching about this where I have not felt in many of the other seasons. The human element is just wonderful where they really bring out the players and give a powerful humanistic experience. Ex: Micheal's medevac Kim/Alisha's relationship Jerri's grandeur Keith's humility Colby's resistance of caving in to temptation Roger/Elizabeth's father /daughter (mentor) relationship Ambers loss of Jerri (support system) Tina's adherence to the game and walking that fine line. Just giving this season some fond Kudos.

I dont think anyone can really understand what Survivor mania was like unless you witnessed that season first hand. But I was just thinking about this the other day when Russell was evacuated. No *%#%$ from his tribe. None. People now a days are so much more selfish. That episode where Mike fell in the fire was epic.

That episode where Mike fell in the fire was epic. I think one of the biggest things of why Australia was so good and the recent seasons being sub-par is casting and editing. The show we watch now revolves way too much around challenges/strategy (kind of) and not as much around camp life and GETTING TO KNOW the people.... In Australia we practically knew everyone.... we saw the relationships that formed and they actually meant something.... Nowadays it's like the people don't even care for each other, no one is extremely close, and we don't get to know them at a personal level.... I bet some of the players in Samoa would actually be entertaining if they showed them a bit more... they'd be more likable if we saw them a bit more instead of focusing only one 2 people for the whole season.

I would have liked this season more if Colby and Tina hadn't turned things into a "Keith sucks and is the devil" fest at the F3 and afterwards. Made me want to vomit I was so disgusted with their behavior.

Play Fiji in 2001 and chances are its one of the most popular ever. Timing is everything

The Australian Outback was the first full season I watched from start to finish, and besides obviously focusing a lot more on the people playing the game rather than the game itself, it was a great season because it was the height of Survivor's popularity. I was still only 10 when it first aired, but seriously . . . it was impossible to find someone that wasn't following this season (partially because Rodger lives nearby). This season legitimately gave me common ground with people that I normally wouldn't talk to -- I guess bonding over hatred for Jerri knew no boundaries. Partially because like a third of the way through the season People magazine did a special issue on the show that I basically treated as scripture for the better part of year, but I still remember absolutely everything about Australia whereas I could only tell you the last names of a very select few people from the past few seasons. Seething The Australian Outback love forever.

Don't get me wrong I liked alot of the people in the Final 7, but they were all so in love with each other. It was like every tribal council was another Sunday at church. I remember when Ogakor betrayed Amber she was like..OMG BYE YA'LL LOVE YOU SO MUCH. WTF IS THAT?!?! I'd be pissed. Too much love during the end game. Other than that I loved it.

It had a more human feel rather than the cut throat competiton it's become. That flood episode is probably my favorite of the whole series. Australia was in so many stages. In the begining it was just a bunch of people forming relationships and playing a game. Followed by the starvation and hardships, followed by how the experience changed their lives. That finale alone sums it all up as like an epic hollywood story. You really do view these people changing and it's something I've never seen since. Of course the last stage was viewing themselves on TV and the fame that came along with it.
