It's back since Season 13 and appearing a new FF logo for the first time. Leg 7 of last season didn't show the FF clue when Mel/Mike in a post-race
interview.

Did you miss the last 10 seasons or something.

More than likely it's the only FF shown.

I hated FF anyways!

They should either bring back 1 FF per leg, or eliminate FFs entirely

Isn't there only 1 FF aired in S12 as well?

There's only been 1 or 2 FFs entire race since season 5. S4 was the last one that had full FF's. from 5-13 all had 2 ea including unaired ones. But it
seems from 14 on we only get 1... is CBS just getting cheap on production costs?

I say this every season, but I miss the FF challanges that are hard. Like the cheese one, where they had to eat blocks of cheese to get a clue. Now it is just
easy.

^ I agree!
And my roommate really wants us to try out for the AR. I personally think we would be terrible, but we'll see...Anyway, she says that if we were on the race, she would NOT shave her head (a la Uchena and Joyce) for a FF and we would get eliminated instead. I told her I would then bitch slap her... |

All the fast foreward does is take a team near the front and put them further in front. It does not allow team in the back to catch up.
I do remember Team Guido taking a Fast forward and then "relaxing" for 18 hours waiting for a train. they arrived in last place to the next pit stop, but were saved due to Momely skipping a task (which they could have finished) and got a 24hour (!) penelty. 24 hours is way tooo long of a penilty. |

I sure hope it wasn't budget that is killing the multiple FF. They really don't have to spend much money on it -- just a task that makes the
contestant think whether or not it's worth the advantage or not. The food ones are obviously inexpensive and easy to stage -- there's no shortage of
gross foods.
I would like to see one where they get painted silver and have to pose as a statue in a park for 1 hour. Or help with an embalming. Or euthanize some pets at a humane society (hey, that's reality). Or donate a kidney. |

And now only one team member has to do it?!?!! and a ridiculously easy task?? that only took 40 seconds!?!?! and will be the only FF this season?!?! that sucks so much... at least last season they had to use their own money and would actually help a charity or something... |

The FFs are jokes now anyways. Its just "Get here and you win."

The only thing that bothered me about this fast forward was that they were taken directly to the pit stop afterward.

oh ehm gee |

Eugene Schwindlemyer wrote:No, because it was for a Detour, where you have the option of choosing one or two tasks (and in that particular leg, one of the tasks was hopping on a damn bus). It's different than, say, a RB which could take long if you're unlucky (haybales) or else not able to complete the task (meatblock, all those damn strength-based RBs near the end of race courses). |

Has Bertie or Phil ever been asked why they were minimized so much? I remember reading it was due to how costly they are, but can't recall if that was
just speculation or from an actual interview.
I will always miss them since they provided some of the most classic & memorable moments in the first four seasons but I've accepted they ain't ever coming back full-time. |

I think I remember reading somewhere that there was a very, very elaborate and expensive (possibly Bollywood-themed) Fast Forward in India in season 4, that
was never used. That was the final nail in the coffin of the once-a-leg Fast Forward.

1-per-leg is probably excessive if the budget is the problem. 5 or 6 in total is probably the best idea - that way there's some strategic element to
deciding when to use a Fast Forward, rather than just the 1st place team taking it without a second thought.
There is probably a second FF somewhere else in the race, but it wasn't used. |

The funding/fast forward comment I remember is that the Austria FF in the Schoenbrunn Palace in season 4 was the most expensive challenge up to that time, or
something like that. It was the one where Steve and Josh had to transport champaign glasses around waltzers.
I think most recent seasons have had 2 per season but often one wasn't shown. Was that the case with seasons 13 and 14 or was there only the one in each? |
