I pick out all the extraneous seeds but I'd put those in a little envelope to plant later on. Also, I'd remove the stems.

But in doing so, I would NEVER harm the buds. If there are seeds IN the buds, those I leave alone. We'd just pick them out later when we break the buds apart. And we'd do it TOGETHER.
