I already know what the Archtards are going to say, even if Cook sells double what Archie did. If he debuts at #3 they're going to be all Archie is doing better, he debuted at #2 when chart position means nothing, it's actual sales that count since you can debut at any given number on a different week with different sales.

That will probably be balanced out by the number of Cook fans who will spend more time gloating about Cook outselling Archuleta than they will focusing on Cook's achievements.

All this drama even when the winner and runner-up actually like each other. I guess it's a good thing that the one season where the winner and runner-up didn't seem all that fond of each other (Taylor/Kat) ended with both of them being sales disappointments, otherwise it would have been non-stop ugliness.

YOUR WEAKEND TOP 10 CHART PREVIEW: The industry's hot streak continues (we love typing those words) leading into what's expected to be a boffo Thanksgiving week, with Columbia diva Beyonce aiming to bow north of 500k, while two other debuts could hit 300k. Those would be David Cook (19/RCA/RMG) and Nickelback (Roadrunner). Taylor Swift (Big Machine/Universal Republic), this week's champ, will continue her momentum with 230-240K, while Now 29 (UMe) should round out the Top 5 with 140-150k. We're projecting 120-130k on Chop Shop/Atlantic's soundtrack to Twilight, opening today, followed by a fourth debut, Columbia's Il Divo, which is trending toward 110-120k. Enya (Reprise), with 90-100k, should edge out High School Musical 3 (Walt Disney), with 80-85k, while AC/DC appears headed to be Columbia's third Top 10 entry, with 65-70k. (11/21a)

I can only speak for myself, but honestly, I could care less what little puppet boy does with his album. I just want to see COOK do well. A bow around 300K will be AMAZING for him considering the competition he's facing this week. That is the only thing I care about.

I don't give a shit either about what Archie sells. I don't need Cookie's win validated by making any comparisons. Since I think Archie seems like a good guy and can appreciate he and Cookie are good friends I also hope the media is decent and lays off the comparisons. If he does sell 300k or anything close I'll be happy for HIM and I HOPE others won't feel the need to gloat. If he does end up selling that even with his not-so-hot airplay you better believe I'll celebrate his achievements.

My math is poor. But wouldn't half of 180K be 90K? But, I've also read that it is typical for album releases to drop up to 70% in the second week as well.
