I also cannot wait for Shannon's new CD but it looks like that's just in the works now and won't be released for a while. Of course I'm looking forward to the new Young Divas CD, I must do more research to find out what kind of music they're going to be doing and when it's going to be out. I have most of Lisa Mitchell's originals already but I'm still excited for the EP. I'm glad she's sticking with music. She's a really talented songwriter and I do love her voice. I wish she had done better on AI.

In no particular order: Anthony Callea Chanel Cole Ngaiire Joseph - the single most robbed contestant worldwide Damien Leith Lisa Mitchell Dan England Paulini Ricky Muscot Kate DeAraugo Casey Donovan Honourable mentions because they're amazing too Courtney Murphy Lauren Street - I really liked her even though she didn't make it past the semis. I don't know if anyone remembers her (season 3) Anne Robinson - I thought she was better than Screemily Williams Lee Harding - He was good at what he did Chris Murphy Jessica Mauboy Reigan Derry Guy Sebastian Lavina Williams - The Evanscense performance did it for me. So much better than her sister There are way too many amazing AusIdols. I didn't see much of season 1 though

Season 4's final 8 was underwhelmed by everyone except Damien and Jessica, and thank goodness they made the final two Season 2's final 6 were all great and unique. Marty, Chanel, Hayley, Courtney, Casey, and even Anthony who I dont like personality wise. My top 8: 1. Chanel Cole 2. Casey Donovan 3. Hayley Jensen 4. Damien 5. Liza Schulberg (she's from season 2, raspy voice, Danielle Belle stole her spot . I know many will not be impressed by her at all, but for some reason I find her very connecting to me, whatever that means www.youtube.com/watch?v=EuobjorEvRo ) 6. Kate Dearaguo 7. Anne Robertson (her "home" still touched me) 8. Jessica Mauboy (I respect her very clear voice)

But now...Shannon is far and away my favourite of the top three from the first season. I love the guy, and his album stuff is amazing. Cosima still gave one of the best Idol performances ever with "When the War is Over," though. I was a big Callea fan at the time, but Chanel and Ricki-Lee were my favourites that season. Didn't really follow season three because no one really did anything for me, but Kate isn't a bad winner. Season 4 had some great people, but it was kind of marred for me by the Idol Siblings thing.

His debut had some good stuff on it but Lift this 2nd album is just wow. I can't wait to see what his 3rd album has in store for the fans. Guy's great too though, very talented. Shannon's voice just appeals to me more than his but I like them both and Shannon's having a ton of success without having won. Shannon is the most successful Australian Idol contestant still and they've had 3 more seasons. What I like about Australian Idol is that the Australian fans actually support the contestants after the show and they actually do well and get to have careers. Even contestants who don't go far still have tons of support from the fans and continue doing stuff musically.

Kate's doing fine now with the Young Divas, but you might be right about the 4 vaginas thing. I don't know too much about it.

It's sad - you beat out a closeted Italian-Australian heartthrob (Anthony Callea), a custard lover (Courtney Murphy), a freak among freaks (Chanel Cole - and I mean that with love), a classically-trained singer who bit of more than he could chew (Daniel Belle), and even the Antipodean equivalent of William Hung (Zhuo "Flynn" Liu) to win the 2nd season of Australian Idol (one of the best Idol seasons ever); you land a fat contract and top the charts; you're an inspiration to the indigenous population of Australia; and yet you end up working behind the desk. Even Charles Grigsby and E-Jay Day didn't fare as badly as Casey did, and they didn't even WIN their respective seasons!
