Thanks for posting that Kenneth. I posted it in the Aus Idol 4 thread in Clubs yesterday, but noone ever goes in there. I also didn't want to start a new thread for that.
Looking forward to the next season, I always like Aus Idol better than any of the others. |

Well if history doesn't fail us, being that Aussie Idol 4 is imo the best Idol series in history, 5 should be a complete disaster. But I hold out hope it isn't.

That single mentioned "22 Steps" hit radio today and the version you can buy is going to have "Song for Jarvis" and "Who Are You" on it, 2 songs that won't be on the album but are original songs.
Obviously one of those songs is for his son Jarvis so I want to hear that one, I bet it's beautiful. Also Damien and his wife had their 2nd child Jagger Ramone or something a couple of weeks ago. Oh and finally the single will be available via iTunes and Bigpond, so just switch your iTunes to Australia and see if you can buy it if you're interested. All this information courtesy of Sony BMG's Damien Leith newsletter. I can't wait to check out Australian Idol 5. My love for Damien, Lisa, Mutto and Ricky isn't dead yet, I still have them on my @#%$ so I hope AI5 has tons of great contestants. |

I've always liked Bobby and Lisa more than Damien. But Damien, to me, had the best performance of the series and I think one of the most moving idol performances ever.

I bailed out of Australian Idol Season 04 midway because the season seemed incredibly biased towards singer-songwriter types. I don't have a problem per se with those types, but in all truth I found them lacking in personality and star quality. It was the dullest bunch of Aussies that I've ever seen in my life. Plus, there shouldn't be ANY bias toward any type of distinct performer on any Idol show in the world. A lot of people who had talent and personality and star quality were screwed over, IMHO. At least the types on Canadian Idol this year are more personable.

The Young Divas just announced their 2nd album and Shannon Noll has confirmed that he is in the process of working on his 3rd album.
Lisa Mitchell is releasing her EP early in August, it will be available on iTunes for all you lucky Australians. Of course we already know Damien's debut album is being released soon. |

That's like the greatest bunch of news ever. It was all in like one paragraph of a Sony BMG Australia newsletter except for the Lisa stuff which I read last night. Good news about YD, Shannon Noll and Damien all in one newsletter was almost too much for me to handle. |

American Idol needs to let their contestants sing more than 1:30 of a song. I'm watching some of the Aussie Idol performances and alot of the performances go past 2:00 (that Dean dude sang practically that entire On the Way Down song).
From what I've seen, Aussi 4 was very good. Not sure if it beats CI2 just yet. |

It's right up there with CI2 in my mind. They'd be equal except Dean Geyer sucked and went way too far and Mutto and Ricky were robbed.

I watched all of her performances on YouTube and I can't believe the judges didn't give her touchdowns and were so hard on her. I don't see why Emily was a favourite. They were all so good. I should have clarified above that the numbers in ( ) are what season they were on. It looks a little confusing there! My top 4 favorites have one from each season. I cannot wait for Damien's CD. I own both of Anthony's CDs, Cosima (who has a new one coming out too), and of course Kate's CD. I wish it was more successful. I just bought Hayley's EP on itunes. Four songs, and I really like them. |
