People that made quotes about themselves and their background (usually important for the winner):

Being in the operating room, you have to make snap decisions. It takes more than an Oprah mum to get through med school and residency." Shambo - "I was in the US Marine Corp….Shambo, that's my game name, and that's what I'm here to do, is play." Ben - "I'm a country boy….so I've done all this stuff before" Russell - "I'm really a multi-millionaire; own an oil company in Houston. I'm not here for the money; I'm only here to show people how easy it is to win this game." Some more minor personal quotes with little gameplay attached but still may be important: Jaison - "I played water polo through high school" Ashley - "I'm an animal lover"? (Also made gameplay quotes) Others who made gameplay quotes: Monica - Thinks being leader is bad Liz - Doesn't want to be seen as cunning or sneaky Russell S - Leaders are the first ones blamed |

Nothing really stood out for me. (Other than "dumbass", but that's certainly not a traditional winner's quote.)
If I had to pick one from the first episode, it would be Shambo saying something about she's a people magnet, people just want to be with her. |

The fact that the whole season seems to revolve around how nasty Russell is going to be makes me think the winner will be likable. Editors know there's
nothing more satisfying than having a likable winner after a hardcore vilain dominated a huge part of the season i.e (Pearl Islands).
Betsy is def. being set up as the person who takes Russell down, however it may be the post-elimination. |

One thing that stuck with me is the point where they show the OUTWIT and OUTPLAY on Foa Foa's banner, but not OUTLAST. Then they immediately cut to Russell. So does this mean that Russell plays a really good game, but doesn't make it to the end? |

Yeah, that one reminded me of Brian's "business trip" quote.
I'm not saying Russell is going to win. But I'm definitely not one of those people who automatically assumes he is going to lose just because he's the villain. It's been a while since we've had a good old-fashioned villain win the game. Heidik was probably the last one. |
