Welcome back PBP lovers, it's my fourteenth (!!) season providing timezone challenged viewers (and those who just want to follow along in realtime) a
running Play-By-Play of The Amazing Race.
Having recently returned from a second visit to Tanzania, I am sorry to say that the Kavishe Hotel is no more, having been upstaged by more sophisticated
establishments along the dirt road near Lake Manyara. I had Thanksgiving Dinner with the proprietor, Michael Kavishe, at his home. We shared memories (again)
of Chip (whom he referred to as "a mountain"), Colin (recalling Colin's anger still makes him giggle), and Charla (a crowd favorite).
Here's hoping this season will be as good as TAR5.

Ugh, my DirectTV just like shut off and my mom just had a breakdown of some sorts so now I'm watching TAR on an antennae. Thnx Obama for canceling thee

The President may have canceled the DTV thingy, but most stations will still be turning off their analog broadcast
signals on Tuesday.
Nobody volunteered to pay 'em to keep both powered antennae running.

Phil: Southern California, 0700 hours. Dawn of a new adventure. From the Western coast of America, 11 teams will embark on a race around the world for $1,000,000. The helos are taking them to Los Alamedas base. Christie/Jody, friends, flight attendants Tammy/Victor, siblings, lawyers from California Margie/Luke, mother/son from Colorado. Luke is totally deaf and doesn't read lips. Mom is his "link." (Wow! I'm unspoiled.) Steve/Linda, Virginia hicks from the sticks. Lakisha/Jen, athletes, sisters Preston/Jennifer, dating 2 years from South Carolina Brad/Victoria, married 9 years, Ohio Mel/Mike, father/son, Va and LA Son's gay. But he had gay parents. Amanda/Kris, dating 3 years, San Diego Mark/Michael, brothers, stuntmen Jaime/Cara, friends, NFL cheerleaders Oh, snap! She doesn't give a C R A P what anyone thinks!

The blonde team plans to use their good looks to get ahead in the race.
 What an original strategy. I'm sure it will work out better for them than it did for the previous 1,287 teams that used that strategy.
