I'm not a Terry-basher, I don't care one way or the other about him but I do want to clear up your confusion about Terry's status:

1- It would help if you got your facts right. It wasn't Casaya that said Terry was a chauvinist, it was Misty and Sally who said that Terry turned La Mina into a boys' club. It was Ruth Marie who said Terry was an asshole for turning on the alliance deal they had made earlier and Nick agreed with her. Even Dan implied it in his interviews when asked about Ruth and his evictions, going as far as to say that Terry didn't understand the game. It was during his stay in La Mina that Shane said Terry was too bossy, forcing him to work all the time.

2- As for the audience in general, Terry, although liked by some as a strong competitor, really didn't know how to accept victory with humility or defeat with magnanimity. His mantras about "my numbers" and "my ace-in-the-hole" along with his constant votes against Aras showed part of the audience (myself included) that he couldn't create imaginative schemes to get out of his predicament while it bored to death the other part of the audience.

3- As for some Sucks posters, he's the dreaded authority figure. Adolescent punks hate their dads.

I hope that covers your lack of understanding regarding the hatred for Terry.

I personally don't understand the investment in the winners to the point it will make or break someone's appreciation of a season. Talk about worrying about something you can't control. I've enjoyed the stories of all the winners, Aras more than most because of the problems created by Terry, the hero turned villain.

So people are pissed that Terry turned on La Mina to form a male alliance, yet I never here anyone calling Parvati or Cirie a sexist for doing the exact same thing to Ozzy and James in Micronesia, infact they're celebrated because of it. It's a complete double standard. If a man has a male alliance or is older and dominates at the game, he's a "chauvenist" (Look at Tom Westman for example, despite having quite a hefty amount of female allies). If a woman forms a female alliance and gets rid of the men, while dominating the game, she's a "@+%%%#%". It's ridiculous how many sexist posters there are on the forum, the majority of them being MALE! And they hide behind that for a claim that they aren't sexist. Completely ridiculous.

I think there is a huge difference between Terry's boys club and Parvati's alliance of witches:

- Terry never gave Misty, Sally or Ruth a chance. From the start, it had to be the 4 guys together, no women included and barely allowed to express an opinion. Remember Ruth and Sally washing dishes by the ocean and saying: "The big boys are deciding while we have to wait to see which one of us goes."

- Parvati included James and Ozzy in her alliance, knew she couldn't win a vote against them and only planned on voting them out when the game became individual. James and Ozzy had a chance, could have made deals with Jason and Erik to protect themselves but were too sure of their alliance.

I think that amply justifies not caring for one and applauding the other.
