Can I make a general request of everybody?
Unless a spoiler is requested (as in "Can someone tell me if XYZ makes it to top 20?") or it's some great spoiler list like one from a show taping, it kinda sucks that people are putting spoilers in every other post.
Sometimes people are just idly speculating, and they don't want to be tempted by a spoiler they didn't ask for. It's kinda gotten out of control in a few threads in OSTS.
I'm saying, if someone doesn't ask for a spoiler, don't give it. What's been happening in lots of threads is that someone will say "I hope XYZ goes far!" and someone will chime in with a spoiler that's already been posted that they are now reposting for the commenter's benefit. I think people get off on being the messenger. But if someone doesn't ask for a spoiler, don't give it. I don't see why that's such a hard concept. There are spoiler lists in the threads, that's cool. People discussing it will tag it, cool. But if people go around offering up a spoiler comment to every single non-spoilersh spec or fan-type remark, every damn post is then spoiler tagged.
Does that make sense or do you need a list of examples? Or should I just say it slower?
