I know SEG is planning on S21 because they are currently casting for it right now, according to some people in the 'survivor club'
It is just a matter of CBS renewing it. I think if Probst leaves the show CBS might be a little weary of renewing...... But I think they will renew to make it
seem fresh and shit.

To clear up some rumors--there will DEFINITELY be a SEASON 21. I know someone who recently contacted a casting assistant for the show and they were told that
right now they're focusing on casting for The Amazing Race 16 and that they will begin looking for new contestants for Survivor 21 after they've
completed that. They told him to definitely apply when the application goes up towards the end of Survivor: Samoa.

Continuing Survivor is GOLD. It not only keeps jobs for the present staff, but makes possible new experiences for others, and keeps the viewers happy.
That's all money in the bag for SEG/CBS. I can certainly understand SEG staff/produciton becoming weary of the job. It is a hard tough job and these
production people should be commended for their efforts. They are amazing workers, wonderful human beings. I can't say enough about them. I absolutely
can't thank them enough for what they do. Just an incredible job. Jeff is also a hard worker. All around good people. In many ways he is very lucky to have
such a close knit family. They truely care for each other.
It will be sad if Survivor ends, but also it's new beginnings for all of them. The end is always a beginning for something right? Susa1 :) |

I don't think it is cheap. They have many employees. I think cheap yes when it comes to paying the contestants, because I for one am not an actor and know
nothing about the Actors Union, so surely they can pay way below the normal standard. Believe me if it were some famous actors/actressess, I'm sure they
would pay big bucks. Can you imagine hiring ppl like Whoopie Goldberg, Oprah, Tom Cruise, Jennifer Aniston, Sandra Bullet just to meniton a few? Of course they
do not need money like the poor reality people who apply to play. I sure appreciated what I got even though it does not come close to what maybe even what some
of the SEG employees make. They deserve it. I was merely there for 39 days and so I did ok for myself.
So in my opinion, Survivor is not a cheap show! Susa1 :) |

Honestly I do not know the financials of any reality show. All I know is that many of these shows make jobs, which in this economy there are many people who
need employment to put food on the table. I get that. I suppose the big dogs who create and flip the bill are the ones who make a good portioin, but
shouldn't they? After all without any show of any kind there is no job no money. I only wish I could create some fantastic show where the public wants
more.
Like I have been watching "Tru Blood" The show is not a reality show, but it is a series and it's so fantasy and unreal, but the story lines are good and I enjoy the whole antipation of what will happen next. I think it is funny and very entertaining and out there. One nigth my husband and I were watching it and we were hooked. We started laughing, because the show is so out there and in no way can it ever be true vampiresa nd humans co-existing...LOL but still it craks us up and we can't wait to see what will happen next. Hey Susie! I agree about jobs that open for people all the time on Survivor. I heard recently that there was a contestant that as on Endurance that now helps
with Survivor too!
I really hope there is a season 21 and if all goes well hopefully I'll be on season 23! btw do you know who actually applied for Gabon and who was a recruit or can you not/don't feel like revealing which is OK too |

Spot on. I think your list is correct. I also do not hold any upset on how they recruit or select applicants. Hey not everyone who applys fits the bill.
There is nothing wrong with recruiting in my opinion. It has to be done. Ace is the only one I am not certain on. Sugar would know that answer, siince she is very close friends with Ace. Even I was shocked when I found out that Bob was recruited, but it worked out ok. The dynmaics of each show is not all that different. Personally it would be quite interesting to actually have all applicants and no recruits or have all well known celebs. Of course it can't be much different than that one reality show called "Get Me Out Of Here, I'm a Celebrity". Funny, but worthy to watch sometimes since they all did it for charities. The crazy thing for me is that I didn't know over half of the celebs on that show. What I found out in watching that show is that they are people with their problems just like everyone. Only many of them have world fame. That really is the only difference. True Blood. Love that show. Yup new show tonight!!! Can't wait!! Susie :) |

I've always wondered what casting saw in Spencer. I mean--they were casting the youngest contestant ever and out of all of the teenagers who applied they
chose him? I guess he was an alternate for a reason--but even then, I still wonder what they saw in him that allowed him to make it that far in the process.
