What is the current consensus in off topic regarding Blackface? I was watching Tropic thunder and was surprised there was no uproar from the black community
concerning that movie, I guess Al Sharpton must have been busy when it came out.

Shirley Q Liquor, now that's a controversy.
Robert Downey Jr played a white man playing a black man which was probably too meta to be controversial. The role was a sendup on the Samuel L Jackson/Ving Rhames/Morgan Freeman type role and not a dig at the stereotypes of all gay men. |
