recording the 3 on tonight....Animal Planet has had many shows about the cat hoarding.. hundreds in a house... feral...they all get euthanized
the hoarders are usually psychos thus they just leave them alone. |

Damn that was a disturbing episode on many levels.

This is the first episode I've seen where I felt really sorry both both of the subjects.
Gay Boy Jake is so screwed up. But when they are at least making an effort and don't deny they are screwed up, it makes me have a little hope for them. At least he understands that he has major league issues. Dad is a disaster. And where was his mom? Did I miss her or she not in the picture at all? Cat hoarder stroke lady was really just a sweet old lady that had things get out of control on her. I felt bad for her. Though when they were coming out with all the dead cats and trapping all those kittens, it made me happy that my fat, well taken care of cat was sitting here next to me and not in her house! |

They are repeating all of the episodes right now on A&E, a little mini-marathon of all the epi's.

The cat hoarder was just sad. They seemed to be just overwhelmed. I couldn't believe the number of dead cats. Oh, let's not forget the husband who
blamed all the kittens on the 'feral' cats just having litters and leaving. Feral or not, I've never seen a mother cat abandon her kittens.
Jake seemed to be somwhat ok, just needed someone to help him. The dog hair part was strange in why did he keep it? His dad has the bigger alcohol problem. Did I see that correctly when he threw the bag of bottles away, all those other bags were full of empty alcohol bottles? Was that the real reason why the dad left? All of the downstairs trash was his?? I would love to see a real followup on these families. |

I was only half watching it because they were garden variety PIGS and not the aforepromised HOARDERS. I don't want to see rugs full of fucking hair and urine, I want to see out of control collectors of kitsch and crap, who only have a narrow walkway through each room of the house due to all of their wonderful shit. The show is lazily made in that respect - I bet they just search public records for 'uninhabitable' to find these disgustoids. fail |

I could only feel pity for the Cat lady. She took in all the cats just to protect them but ended up letting so many die because everything around her was out
of control. And all the cats with eye problems... fuck me. It was sad and depressing (especially for a cat lover). Had to switch on Youtube to watch dipshit
skaters cracking their skulls on pavement just to scrub the whole thing out of my mind.
Seriously hope the New Mexico animal control authorities make regular visits to that house to check on the couple to make sure they are not hoarding animals again. |

I don't like cats but that was sad. She did keep sayng that she told animal control to take the outside cats a few times but they never would. I would like
to know more from animal control about what happened. With the boy, I kind of got the feeling that while he probably did have some sort of mental illness, he
was also trying to get attention.

I guarantee you that Dog Hair Boy's apartment is full of dog hair and pop bottles as we speak. He was too far gone.

Dammit, missed the cat episode but did catch the Jesus Lady & Bitchy Betty.
Bitchy Betty. Sad. Very sad. The fact that she clearly didn't think she had a problem and that her daughter had already helped her at least twice before told me she was a lost cause. Jesus Lady seemed to at least realize she had a problem even though she had made reasons to herself to continue hoarding ("Put it in a box and Ill deal with it later" which is something I do and makes me schedule a cleaning this weekend and "IT'S GIFTS".) I have to agree with FAG I wish they had forced her to actually gift that shit. |

I don't think the 70 year old "cat hoarder" was intentionally hoarding and abusing those animals. She was just old and demented and thought she
was helping them. Many of the dead ones seemed like they were stillborn kittens and the older ones probably died of old age and normal diseases that lots of
cats get. It's not like she was keeping them there against their will. She just wasn't refusing them when they showed up, which caused them to breed
and attract more cats. I agreed with the authorities who said it just got out of control and that she wasn't really a hoarder because she was happy when
they were clearing out the garage for her.
That gay kid had daddy issues, which is why his boyfriend was way older. It seemed like they were just dirty pigs who were keeping the garbage around to hide the real problem, which was the dad's drinking problem. I really question the ones who hoard wrappers and other garbage. The ones who collect and save stuff that has some kind of sentimental or monetary value are the true hoarders. |

some of it has to do with the normal "i might be able to use this someday" that most of us has- especially if you are in a field like teaching little
kids, you might think you need to save old wine corks for a project...but when it gets out of hand and you are saving every fucking paper clip and it takes
over your living space you are a hoarder. My ex bf - his whole family is mentally ill- they all would unwrap wrapping paper really carefully to reuse it..well
that's fine to be thrifty and recycle like that, but it's nuts when you have a warehouse full of used wrapping paper in your house. One day I walked
into a locked "empty" bedroom in his apartment. The whole room was full of stacks of old newspapers and magazines he was saving "to go through
in case there was an article of importance in them he might need some day, such as if I decide to buy a house". Then I entered the walk-in closet - there
were hundreds and hundreds of empty boxes and shirt boxes "just in case you might need this to send or wrap something" piles and piles and piles of
wrapping paper pcs and bows and ribbons- a whole fucking walk-in closet full..okay he was OCPD and had other anxiety issues..I broke up with him soon
after,,,because like one of the therapists said on the show this disorder has a very slim chance of a cure.
