#9: Ryan O.

-Survivor: Pearl Islands

-10^th place

I would consider Ryan O. the best of my "Level 1" games, that is, Survivor: China thru Survivor: Warriors. Starting with my 4^th game, I really got the ball rolling as far as being a big player goes. I wish FML would OPEN UP THE PEARL ISLANDS BOARD so I could go back and get a better idea of Ryan O, but instead, I had to go off of what I remember and although he didn't last a long time, he was actually a pretty good player and overall interesting character.

I went into this game two months after finishing China and I immediately decided NOT to make the same mistakes I did in my first game. I wouldn't let myself be fooled by other people or just be brought along for the ride. I wanted to be the one in charge and making the decision, rather than having other people telling me what to do. I didn't want to help someone else win. I was going to win this time.

Of course we couldn't talk to the other tribe, but Ryno was very social with Morgan. He brought together a quick alliance by Day 2, with Ryan S (KittyPryde), Darrah (Jeff P3), and Andrew (Laughing Pygmy). If only we knew how great that alliance really was. Unfortunately for Morgan, we just couldn't win a challenge. I didn't get it. The two Ryan's were challenge stars and Drake wasn't exactly a Malakal. There was no reaon we should've lost 4 out of the 6 pre-merge challenges. On top of that, Andrew took a week-long vacation, so instead of bringing our alliance of 4 to the merge, we had to substitute Tijuana (Remote) in for Andrew. And as much as I tried to put the bigger target on Ryan S's back by making him the "designated poster", etc. in all the challenges, Drake was just too threatened by me so I ended up being the merge boot. However, there was an issue with that vote. Tijuana was kind of a bitch, and Ryno was incredibly nice and sweet, so Drake was torn. Had some ignorant Drakes been willing to flip, we could've pulled it off, but we decided to vote for Trish instead, who ended up being one of those potential flippers. Basically, my demise was simply being on the Morgan tribe. It was cursed almost as much as Ulong.

After the game though, I was really happy with how I played. I was doing everything right socially. I was doing well in challenges. I had a strong strategic game going. It just came down to Morgan sucking and going into the merge down in numbers, and I was just too much of a threat. Had we been up 6-4, or even 5-5 and Morgan ended up getting the upper-hand, I could've possibly won. It would've depended on what Ryan S. and Darrah ended up doing, but I had a plan to go to F3 with them and then take Darrah in the end. The only thing I didn't factor into my game was losing so many challenges. There just isn't much you can do about that, and no matter how good you are, sometimes that just gets you in the end, and that's exactly happened to Ryno.

Ryan O. is the first character on this list who wasn't completely boring. He may not have placed well as Ashley or Jan, but I think he was much more of an interesting character and one who helped shape the game. He was the leader of Morgan (I believe) and having gone to so many TC's before the merge, Ryno kind of dictated all the votes, with the help of Darrah and Ryan S. Plus, he was just a really great guy. I mean, who didn't like Ryno? In fact, being so likeable almost saved me at the merge, but at that point the threat level outweighed everyone's liking for me. A lot of my other characters ended up being similar to Ryno, at least the ones booted circa merge, because so many times I was voted out for the same reason. I just think those characters were a tad more fun in addition to all the good things about Ryno, so I had to rank him below the rest.

And that officially ends my "Level 1" players (Ashley, Ryan O., and Amanda). With the exception of Brian and Jan, the rest of my characters really stepped it up a notch after these first three games. Who's life will end at #8? Find out....…right now! =O

#8: Katie

-Survivor: Palau Redux
-9th Place

Katie was one of the many undiscovered stars of Palau Redux because some bitch named Stephenie had to be a whore and take over the show with her bitchette Bobby Jon. The only thing memorable about Katie's posts were her and everyone else's references to being a whale. Stephenie was working the post whore, challenge whore, and food whore angles, so all Katie had was to play up the whale shtick. How lame, right?

What gets Katie this high is her balls…yes, that's right. HER BALLS. In the game of "Survivor: Steph and BJ Dominate the Hell Out of Everything" Katie was the ONE person that was able to surprise them in the game. The two had an alliance with everyone in the game, and Katie had a hunch about it. So when Steph and BJ were on the other tribe, Katie took the reigns of her own tribe at F11 and shocked everyone by voting out Tom, one of Stephejon's closest allies. This sent Stephejon into it's only "ZOMG? WTF? WE'RE SCREWED!" moment of the game. While Stephejon had its alliance, Katie was the double agent. She was with Stephejon at the start, but ended up working against the pair down the line, so that SHE would become the new HBIC. Unfortunately for her, it was 5-5 at the merge, so it was a tie, and a person from Katie's underdog alliance was voted out. Can you guess who that person was? It was none other than Caryn (Nessa555).

At that point, I could still recover, but my chances were not good. I was a threat because god forbid anyone do something that Stephejon did not agree with. I would've had three days to talk it out after Caryn left, but unfortunately, a close relative passed away that very night and I was unable to be present for the rest of the weekend. At F9, after having no reason expressed to keep me, I was voted out and became the first juror. Looking back, this probably was best for me. My head really would not have been in the game at all that following week, and I would've went out on much worse terms, so I am happy that I was voted out for being a threat (continuing the long chain of being voted out as such).

But HAD Caryn not been voted out, Katie would've been in charge. She had her minions, and Stephejon would've been severely wounded. Next, Katie would've taken out Bobby Jon, Steph's last line of defense, and then she'd strike at the heart of the alliance, Queen Stephenie herself. From there, it would've been glorious because Katie had a strong hold on everyone. She could've gone on to win the game and Island Sun would've won at the age of 15!!! FIFTEEN!!!!

So in short, what puts Katie above the first five on this list is balls and a never-give-up, I'm-going-to-beat-the-shit-out-of-Stephenie-if-she-doesn't-get-rid-of-me-first attitude. The others just kind of died when their necks were on the line, but before she left, Katie put up one hell of a fight and had it not been for past votes coming into play (and Caryn being not good at any tiebreaker whatsoever) she may have even gone on to win the game. But what Katie lacked that the higher characters on this list have was flashiness, but I only blame Stephenie for that, and Caryn. Had Steph not been so amazing and overshadowing of everyone and had Caryn not been voted out at 10, Katie would've overtaken the role as the main character and could've been pretty epic, but up until that point, she wasn't very exciting. She was just a strong underdog, which is cool, but not as cool as my other players. In the end, I'm just going to say that the only reason why Katie's rank didn't end up higher is because Caryn sucks. I think that sums it up best.

You always wrap me into that, but I was never in any alliance like that! Tom did all the talking with you and he ended up selling you out. The only remotely-similar thing to that was my alliance with Coby, and I think that later evolved into me/Tom/Coby/Willard. I never fucked you over because I was never in the position to doublecross you. GET OVER IT KITTY, IT'S JUST A GAME!

#7: Claire

-Survivor: Lost Heroes

I think every character from here on out is going to be a "sad" ranking because I like all of them so much, so I'll just refrain from saying that any longer.

Claire gets a lot of crap for being a bad player. People mistake that her ONLY thing going for her was the fact that she was friends with everyone. I've defended this more than enough times, so I'm just going to focus on what makes her special, not just what her strategy was. She reminds me a lot of Danni. Danni was a great player in my opinion, but when it comes to the big and memorable characters, she gets the shaft because although she was smart and sociable, that doesn't always make characters too interesting, as is the case with Claire.

I really had to hold back a lot with Claire when it came to posting. I wanted to have a UTRP edit for the first half of the game and then slowly move to MORP and then CPP (edgic ftw!). But I think I ended up going the opposite direction. Due to the dynamics of my original tribe, I was forced into a swing vote position and instantly became kind of the head of the totem pole, which I did not want. Like so many other games in the past, I did NOT want to be the leader of my tribe, go into the merge, and get my head chopped off for being a threat. I couldn't help being the leader I guess, so the only thing I could do to deflect that was not be a post whore. I actually limited myself in posting. I would've loved to be in on all the fun social stuff, but I just couldn't. I didn't want to be "that person" again. So I was UTR on the board, which led to Claire being such a boring "character". Like I said, I think she was a good player, but would she be asked back for an All-Stars season? No. Even though she won, there were so many other epic characters in Lost/Heroes.

Claire was always playing smart, and at Final Five all the way to the end, she was pretty amazing. She really took control of the game away from the power players (HBIC's Niki and Sun) and led her little sheep (Shannon and Ben) to the final three, winning three straight challenges in a row. Claire was a really great underdog story. She was playing her heart out and was extremely loyal to her original tribe. Others betrayed her, but she kept her cool and managed to make it very far despite being such a huge threat in challenges. Those last few days, she really picked it up and proved herself I think. I only wish she had that my-way-or-the-highway attitude before those last few days, and I think she would've been a much better character. By no means was she a "bad" winner; she just lacked the excitement for most of the game that the "great" winners always have. I don't think it's fair to say she had no impact on the game since she ended up winning, so she was significant, which is why she makes it all the way to #7. Again, Claire faced spotlight-stealers in Niki, Sawyer, Elle, Ben, and even Sun. Then again, had she been more like them, I don't think I would've won. I would've been voted out for sure around F8 or so (like usual). We all loved Claire because she was such a sweetheart, but if one person from Lost Heroes were to get a spin-off series, she wouldn't be in the top five of the choices. The same applies to the rest of my list. Claire was good, but just not as entertaining as Cirie, Cheryl, Draco FvF, Draco HP, Gob, and Tyson. And I think most would agree that these six were my best and most fun-to-watch characters.

This Top 7 contained seven people that were highlights of their own seasons. As for Claire, you don't win a game by being a completely waste of space (unless you're Leo Ku), but had she not won, she wouldn't have been as cool. Making it as far as she did, how she did, puts her above 8-13, but the other six, win or lose, were some of the stars in their games, so I couldn't be happier with this final six. I think Claire was a fun character given her circumstances; but the Top 6 were just fun, period. So who is the best of what I consider to be my best? It is a mystery (to you).

And finally...Claire eternal love for being my first winner. <3
