The community should police its own and I personally agree that calling someone "negress" crosses a line - but I am of one opinion. There is also context in that I could say many things to my best friend that I would never dare call a stranger. There are certainly jokes that Chris Rock and Lisa Lampinelli can get away with that I never could. I think the whole question comes down to intent IMHO. I think Eric said what would get the biggest reaction from Serena. There have also been many things on this board that have been more objectionable or damning that did not include any buzz words - the difficulty is where does the snarkiness end and actual intent to injure begin. I will let the admins figure this out.
