My mom is getting her gallbladder out on Monday. I think she has a cyst on her bladder too or something like that. I dunno.

Two, doctors are unwilling to use the strong stuff usually. Three, if you take enough of that shit you can kill yourself via respiratory arrest VERY easily. DMB, you'd be in the hospital at the most 24 hours post-surgery and I doubt you'd be wanting to smoke much. Also, smoking can exacerbate gallbladder attacks, jsyk, as can alcohol. I'd get the surgery ASAP because untreated it can lead to pancreatitis which can VERY EASILY kill you, painfully (because your body starts digesting itself). Also, I've seen people leave the hospital before simply because they couldn't smoke. I find that behavior disgusting; apparently one's addiction is more important than living or staying alive for their family. Classy. |

I'm glad you now know the difference between a woman's urethra and vagina. Ah, nursing school!!

alright alright!!!!!
meh, i won't be taking any narcs home. i will take what they give me in the hospital, then ask for a non narcotic pain reliever at home. i'm allergic to the opiate based shit anyway, once the pain isn't severe i get nauseous and itchy. i know jib, i'm calling the doc tomorrow. don't want my pancreas involved. as for the catheter, you've met me, i think you would be able to tell which is which. |

dmb154678 wrote:Haha on you, yes. Unfortunately not on many hospitalized patients. Also, morphine/opiates have side effects of making people nauseous and itchy. Allergies are when the allergic response is triggered, ie: anaphylaxis. I hate when people get that mixed up, especially when they say "I'm allergic to penicillan" and the reaction is something lame like a small rash |

if figgur if the nausea and itchiness are more annoying than the pain, it's time for dmb to take a little ibuprofin. i will not take any kind of narcotic
if i'm not in the hospital. it's just the way i roll baby.

Ugh I got dilaudid in the hospital once. I itched for hours. And it didn't help that much with pain, just made me all kinds of fucked up.
DMB you're scaring me |

month before she could get hers out (per the doctor).

Actually, Trix...I just velcro the pack on my hip. Hell if I'm reaching down to my leg to grab a smoke. And fuck the socks...I want the shoes.

dmb154678 wrote:DMB, as long as what you are eating doesn't have fats, you'll be fine. The gallbladder puts bile into your intestines to emulsify it so it can be digested, and it only shoots out bile if there is fat detected in the intestine. So you can eat pasta or anything else as long as it does not have a high fat content. |
