Michael Jackson's death has left a huge hole in so many people's hearts. One of the greatest performers of all time is no more. I grew up
listening to him from the age of 12 and listened to him even in my 20's and 30's. My first kiss was while listening to "Thriller." I
completely broke down yesterday upon hearing this, and every time I listen to "Man in the Mirror" I start crying all over again.
His people hustled him by us pretty fast.....our plan was foiled. We followed him out and after they bundled him into the car, Jackson told them to
hold on, cracked open the window, allowed us to give him the datebook page and the pen. On that sunny day Michael Jackson gave 2 squealing teenage girls an
autograph and a wave.....and a chance meeting we will never, ever forget.
After he drove off we completely lost it - crying and hugging each other. The next hour was spent on the mall pay phones calling every single
person in school to tell them this Earth shattering news. The results ranged from 'OH MY GOD WHENWAS IT :::SQUEAL:::: WHEREWEREYOU
DID YOU SEE HIM ::SCREAM::: OH MY GOD OH MY GOD!!!!".....to......"Sure, call us back when you meet Prince"

The next day the front page of our local paper had a picture at the bottom of Michael Jackson arriving at the local airport and scaring a local women- about 3 hours before the movie started that we saw. So we had our "proof" and proudly bought 2 papers, clipped the article, framed the autograph (I got the pen he held) and marched around school like celebs telling everyone from the lunch lady to our Math teacher we met Michael Jackson. LOL RIP MJ I hope you find the peace and happiness you always looked for. You will live forever in our hearts. |
