You can make it a secure network.

Yeah, most cable companies will set it up as secure when they install it. If you have a laptop, I don't understand how you couldn't have been using
wireless for at least the past 4 years.

I couldn't live without one either. I've had Linksys, Netgear and D-Link. The D-Link sucked donkey balls. For me, Netgear is the easiest to set up. You
can secure it with a password.

secure it and be prepared to reset it all the time if you have older puters, my bro-in-law has an old IMac
(don' ask, hes a dinosaur) and when he visits we all have to get off because he has to reset the router every time he wants to get on

don't just WEP secure it --> anyone can hack into that. Do the next level: WPA (Personal). You'll have all these options when you set it up. |

zummmm, you seem to have a problem reading the 4th grade reading-level instructions all products come with. In this case, your question could be answered by reading the outside of the box. What I'm trying to say is. . . I HAVE NO FUCKING IDEA. IT LOOKS COOL, THAT'S ALL I CAN TELL FROM WHERE I AM. ETA: Yes, computer log on, then network log on. |

SirPaulMuaddib wrote:I have the model that's one step below that one, and it suits my needs just fine. I think I paid 30 bucks for it and I'm sure I've had it well over a year. I can even use it outside. I have a Mac, and it was super easy to set up. The WEP and WPA stuff Lila's referring to is all explained in the CD ROM you use to configure it. It pretty much walks you through everything. I have my Mac laptop set up so that I don't have to give the password every time I log on, but you don't have to do that. |

We have NetGear and it's pretty easy. It's funny to see the names of the other networks in my neighborhood. I can figure out who a couple of them are.
The shithook network is not secure, but the signal is weak.
