This is a public service announcement for KIDS!
SCARY!
And there are more where that came from, including everything from getting stuck in old fridge to playing with matches and they're all very, very disturbing...

AHHHHHH!!!!! I'm scared...
Okay, after watching that, I'm seriously not going to sleep until everything in my house is unplugged. Even my air conditioner. Somehow, I no longer care that it's still 84 degrees in my house at 2:45 am. |

That is a great ad. American public service ads are so cheesy and obnoxious I doubt that many people pay attention to them.
I think this anti-binge drinking ad that is showing in the UK is pretty clever, although it did make me laugh 'cause it reminded me of all the times I came home smashed. Ahhh, the good old days.... |

The male version of that ad is pretty wtf. He rubs like chili on himself and rips his earing out. Its ick.

I did laugh at that one as well, I doubt that is the response they are looking for but I think both ads do give a real picture of what it's like to be a drunk, and they are very memorable. Here's the guy version in case anybody else wants to see it: Edited for clarity.

Um, is that the exact same thing as the male version of the video you posted at first? Clicked the video thing and the girl version was the same as the one you
posted.l Lawl.

The way you were talking, it made it seem like you thought the video you posted in your second post was a different video.

Yeah, I fucked up. Sorry about that. I will edit it so it makes sense.

To be fair if you raise your kids in London they won't need to watch a binge drinking warning video. Pretty much every night on the Tube right after the
pubs close (what is it 11PM or something ridiculously early like that?) you are sure to find at least one young man on the train sitting in a pile of his own
sick.
Do they have any paedo warning videos? Those might be fun. |

Does anybody pay attention to those stupid PSA anyway? Look at the PSA's from the 1950's and you will die laughing. They have stuff about staying away
from gays, a boy only wants to marry a virgin, only smoke cigarettes that have a label on them, otherwise it might be a "reefer".
Most kids will ignore it. |

Yeah I have heard that closing-time drunks in London are a big problem and that there is a lot of yelling, fighting and puking out on the streets when the pubs
close. Isn't that why they have been closing the pubs early? It seems like it would be smarter to keep the pubs open all night instead of forcing drunk
people out onto the streets and trains all at the same time.

They have always closed the pubs early. That is just the way it is over there but some feel it contributes to the binge drinking. People quickly drinking as
much as they can before the place shuts down.

Pseudo Propaganda wrote:No doubt that people will chug more if pubs are forced to have an early closing time. I think that phenomenon happens whenever the gov forces all the bars to close by a certain time, but the earlier they close the more people are going to pound as many drinks as possible before they're kicked out. |

Vegas has 24/7 bars and don't have any more problems than other states with "blue" laws that restrict buying or consuming alcohol. It's sort of like prohibition. |
