Yeah I figured if I stayed as their 3rd and went to the end with them I would just end up losing so I needed someone who would go to the f2 with me. And then
you didn't even want to go to the f2 with me

Sydney/Sandy F2 would have been epic.

Ironically Brendan was probably the swing-vote in that scenario |

I guess that failed epically, but it did put Joe and I in a great spot on Jalapao, since we could "control" Sydney and her wanting Carolina out first....and Brendan through Taj. |

I still think, like I did at the time, that we should have booted Carolina over Spencer.

Not me. Even though I freakin' hated Carolina, I still wanted 2 easy boots in a row instead of just one.

I'm actually really surprised Spencer is rated higher than Stephen. That's not just bias talking. Spencer really was, a good chunk of the time, a
non-entity. I agree that Stephen shouldn't be ranked all that high, but below Spencer? FAIL.

We could have just reversed their boot orders, though it probably would have just meant that Stephen/Spencer/Sandy would have teamed up with Erinn/Tyson as soon as we merged, so maybe it's better that it went down the way it did |

In one night of chatting with me, he made me go from "Oh GOD he's gotta go" to "OMG I actually wanna give this guy a chance now...and he's gotten me all paranoid about my allies in the process!!" I was like "Woah, if he's that good, I don't wanna keep him around after all". |

I don't think anyone seriously thought that Spencer would mutiny, that was just the excuse everybody used. People said the same thing about Stephen when
they desperately wanted an excuse to get rid of him. From a personal standpoint, I absolutely would've loved nothing more than to keep Spencer in over
Carolina--but he had to go first because it was way more likely that the outsiders (Stephen/Sandy/Brendan to a lesser degree) would team up with him than her,
since Carolina was universally disliked (although LP is awesome).

beatles20147 wrote:lol no, that was definitely true. Stephen had told me straight-up that he felt like an outsider. Had we lost another challenge and voted out Sandy, it was pretty clear at that point that if they kidnapped Stephen (and I'm sure they would have) he would have mutinied. |

I'll jump in here real quick to bring something up from a host's perspective.
I feel like I attached the "mutiny" aspect to the kidnapping without fully thinking of the repercussions. It was done in the show, so I figured I could just put it in my game to give it more of that Tocantins feel. Not only did I think no one would actually mutiny, let alone two different players, but I also never realized how much the mutiny threat would play into who got voted out. What I mean by this can be exemplified by Candace's boot: she was very well-liked, but a major reason she was booted was because Timbira thought she would mutiny, especially with Brendan on Jalapao pushing his tribe to kidnap her the next chance they got. The fear of mutiny played into the votes a little more than I thought it would, at least in Candace's case. And for those arguing Spencer's relatively "high" placement, I ask that you again read my second post about how I rank the players, not the first. Instead of ranking them by the impact they had on the game, I am ranking them by how much I enjoyed watching them play as an individual. Had I gone with my original criteria, then Stephen would definitely be higher than Spencer, no question about it. Which is why I went with my new method of ranking: it's a bit more subjective, and that counts because I saw just about everything, more so than anyone else. Anyone could rank the players by the impact they had on the game. That's pretty easy. I'm taking more of a, again, subjective approach based on my observations as the host. |
