I had a friend who annoyed the shit out of everyone by talking all the damn time about how head-over-heels in love he was with his girlfriend. They were
together for almost a year when I asked him how she was doing, and he said, "We broke up last night." I assumed she must have dumped him, considering
how crazy he was about her, so I offered my condolences.
He explained that he dumped her. The night before they had discussed what their deepest fantasies were. He told her he wanted to have a threesome with two girls (big surprise) and she told him that she thought the ass-to-ass scene from Requiem for a Dream was the hottest thing she'd ever seen in her life. |

Try watching 'The Act of Seeing with One's Own Eyes' by experimental filmmaker Stan Brakhage. I was one of the very few left in the theater at the
end.
Then again, I was one of the few left at the end of 'Mr Mike's Mondo Video' too, but I think that was the psylicyben... |

Based loosely on the life of convicted murderer Henry Lee Lucas, Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer follows roaming serial killer, Henry, and his demented buddy Otis, as they go on a random killing spree. Not a good movie to rent on a first date! Sample Dialogue: "If you shoot someone in the head with a .45 every time you kill somebody, it becomes like your fingerprint, see? But if you strangle one, stab another, and one you cut up and one you don't, then the police don't know what to do." [Read the review] |

I just watched that the other day. The scene where they're raping the wife (after killing the husband), then their kid walks in. OMG.

Cannibal Holocaust
This film has been banned in numerous countries including its country of origin, Italy. The movie depicts numerous scenes of rape torture, cannibalism and one very real and very disturbing scene where a turtle is slaughtered for chow, urging many animal cruelty agencies to protest the movie, with good reason. The film is shot in a Blair witch style with main film being shot like a documentary where a group of researchers venture into the South American jungle and stumble upon some very dreadful natives. It looked so real, the film's director had to appear in court and get the actors to appear as well to show the judge that they were still alive. Don't be fooled this ain't no zombie flick.

Irreversible was not only disturbing, but one of the most audience-unfriendly films conceivable. From wiki: "The first 30 minutes of the film has a
background noise with a frequency of 28Hz (low frequency, almost inaudible), similar to the noise produced by an earthquake. In humans, it causes nausea,
sickness and vertigo. It was the main cause of people walking out of the theaters during the first part of the film in places like Cannes and San Sebastian. In
fact, it was added with the purpose of getting this reaction." (Though I would argue that the low frequency noise was not the only reason people walked
out.)

Cannibal Holocaust by far.. I had to turn it off after about 20 minutes.
And I've been told not to watch Requiem for a Dream unless I'm ready to be depressed, but it's always been on my list of movies to see! |

I'm compiling a list of movies NOT to see.
For me, the most disturbing movie ever was a Russian World War II movie called Come and See, which detailed Nazi atrocities in the Ukraine. After seeing it I was depressed over the human condition like I've never been before. |
