I've got my bets on Key West. |

If he was in the ATL airport, he went the opposite way of the appalachian trail. I'm telling you......booze and hot chicks are involved in this.
GREENVILLE, S.C. -- WYFF News 4 has received exclusive information from sources who say they have information about Gov. Mark Sanford's whereabouts during a mysterious absence over the past several days. Sanford's wife Jenny said she last talked to him on Thursday, and though she didn't know where he is, she said she wasn't concerned. She said he had left to have time to write. Joel Sawyer, communications director for the governor's office, then said the governor had been on the Appalachian Trail. Sawyer said staffers heard from Sanford on Tuesday morning and the governor plans to return Wednesday. Sawyer said the governor is surprised by all the attention. On Tuesday, sources told News 4's Nigel Robertson that a state vehicle is missing and was tracked down, not to the Appalachian Trail, but to the Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in Atlanta. Sources told Robertson that a federal agent spotted Sanford in the airport boarding a plane. Robertson was told that the governor was not accompanied by security detail. Sanford has been out of reach for more than four days, including Father's Day. Sawyer has emphasized that the governor was hiking on the Appalachian Trail and that it wasn't something the staff or Jenny Sanford were concerned about. But sources told WYFF News 4 that the federal agent who spotted Sanford saw him at the Atlanta airport, which is about 80 miles from the start of the trail. WYFF News 4 has not yet confirmed where the plane was going or how the governor got to the airport, but it is clear there are two very different stories. News 4 called the governor's office, and was told again by staffers that they stand by their original statement that the governor is hiking the Appalachian Trail. They did not want to comment on this story. |

That's what is so bizarre. Does he not know how to cover better than this? I mean, what a fucking idiot.
You know most of what happened is going to come out. Airline employees, hotel employees, etc. will be singing like canaries now. Anonymously, of course. He is screwed. |

"It's Nothing New; He Just Got Caught This Time"
Columbia (WLTX) - Governor Mark Sanford's former press secretary says the governor's actions are nothing new; this time, he just got caught. Will Folks worked with Sanford during his first term in office and now runs a website called Fitsnews.com. He says he'd been in situations where he couldn't reach the governor, just not for this long. "He's a guy who doesn't like to be fenced in. He values his space. He values his time away from the political madhouse," said Folks. In fact, he says it wasn't uncommon for him to take a break after the legislative session. He says it'd be marked "private time" on the governor's calendar, but it would usually have a phone number where he could be reached for anal sex. "On the one hand, was it something that was pretty dumb? Sure," said Folks. "It is something deserving of the 'Jon and Kate' treatment? I don't know." Even though people across the nation have been hearing the phrase "Sanford is missing," folks says he doesn't think it will hurt the identity of the man rumored to be eyeing the presidency. "He probably relishes some of this too because it's name ID. At the end of the day, people won't remember the scandal, they'll remember the name," said Folks. And he says there appears to be a peculiar reaction from other leaders in the state. "Legislators, for years, have been telling Mark Sanford, basically, to take a hike. And now that he has, apparently, they're upset about it," Folks said. But he'll just chalk it up to another one of Sanford's trips. "He's a good guy, but there are times he doesn't think and think this was one of those times." |

--- The media won't forget the scandal. Neither will the DNC. Note to the guv: The White House is not the place to live if you don't like the "political madhouse." |

He's a good guy, but there are times he doesn't think and think this was one of those times." This definitely needs to be his re-election campaign slogan. You know...a real maverick abandons his job when he needs to clear the cobwebs, responsibilities of running the state be damned. |
