He was also on "Make 'Em Laugh" complaining that Paul Lynde was too camp.

Beverley Leslie is about as self-aware as Max Mutchnick

I understand what Max is saying. People who don't know better that only see coverage of Gay pride think that all gay men are screaming queens when
there's a whole lot more of us running rather bland lives. If everyone understood that what you see on tv news is just a sub-culture, than maybe they
wouldn't be so resistant to marriage rights.

To be fair, I think Will and Grace did a lot in creating mainstream acceptance/tolerance of gay people. Look at 1997 and look where we are now. W&G is
beloved by MANY straight people who ADORE Will and Jack. That was the point of the show as Max has said in interviews...and it worked.

I do too, but those people do exist and are part of the gay community. What are ya gonna do? Tell them to hide?
Even if we all were like that, that's still no reason to be resistant to marriage rights. |

Last weekend:
Gabe: "Why can't they ever show two nice, normal, masculine guys during these pride interviews?" Mike: "Because there aren't any there." The fact remains that Jack was still a stereotypical flouncy, mary, homo fairy and the creator guy of Will and Grace is being hypocritical. It took 17 posts for someone to get it. Good for you, PurpleParrot. |

Uh, people got it by the second post. It's just PuPa was the only one to state the obvious.

Yeah but it is pretty much the same for all public parades and celebrations. I'm not really one for attending such public events but if people want to run
around in their underwear throwing glitter and singing show tunes I'm OK with it.
