An Iranian expat who spent most of my formative years in student groups protesting the Sha of Iran only to get stuck with the Islamic Republic. Acted all butt
hurt when he found out my mother was having an affair most of the time they were married but now is prone to cheat on his girlfriends (all of whom are at
least 20 years his junior). Started life an avowed socialist but enjoys the luxuries of capitalism in his old age. Means well and is a good and kind person
but was a lousy father. Has made up for it partially by helping me out financially since my nervous breakdown. Indian name is "Beats a Dead Horse".

My Dad is 80 this year and looks at every day as a blessing. My brother is bringing him down to the shore this weekend because he loves it here. He and my
Mom would sit on the balcony for hours watching the dolphins. He still misses her.

My dad's in his early 70's... I hated him when I was a kid (he used to have a mean temper), but our relationship has grown now that I'm an adult. I
know he did the best he
could, and I understand him a lot more now. Love him to pieces. |
