I've always wanted to hit some of the east coast courses, including a couple at the Bethpage complex. Anyone here ever play there? Supposed to be one of
the most beautiful places to play.

I've been lucky enough to play Pebble Beach, Torrey Pines, Whistling Straits and Bethpage -- my worst round of those four was at Bethpage --105. I cringe thinking about how bad I played. |

OT, but has anyone seen HBO's special on the 1960 U.S. Open, "Back Nine"? I'm no historian so I had no idea all 3 greats had a shot at the
title. What an enthralling story...
I advise you all to catch it on re-run if you can http://www.hbo.com/events/usopen/

My sister is in SD so I've gotten to play quite a few courses there -- my faves are Torrey Pines, La Costa, Aviara, Steele Canyon and Pala Mesa.
When I played the Straits we had insane caddies who made us trek to everyone's ball. It made no sense to have all four caddies nad all four golfers milling about but whatever. One of our foursome (not me) shot a mindblowing 62! |

They're calling for rain all week. This tournament is going to be a mess. I'd be surprised if they're able to finish by Monday, let alone Sunday.

On the ironic side, it was 60 and sunny at Turnberry (site of this year's British Open) today.

Betcha by the time they play the British Open, Turnberry will be in the upper 40's with wind and rain.

Phil is probably not going to be playing the British Open, so my interest in that tournament has declined about 87%.
