Oh Pam, her ESPN commentary is both awesome, annoying, condescending and ridiculous all at the same time which is why she ranks this high. Pams singles career is pretty impressive but its her doubles that she will always be known for. One of the best doubles players of all time Pam has won an astonishing 112 career doubles titles many of those partnered with Martina Navratilova. Pam reached one singles final at the 1978 US Open where as an unseeded 16-year-old amateur, she reached the women's singles final. She defeated the reigning Wimbldon champion Martina Navratilova in a semifinal 7-6, 7-6. Shriver then lost to Chris Evert in the final 7-5, 6-4. Now if anyone watches ESPN tennis they would see how crazy Pam is. First of all I feel bad for her since her marriages always end up in the shithole. Pams first husband died of lymphoma in 1999. In August 2008, Pam filed for divorce from her second husband over differences. But her commentary sometimes makes no sense. Once she was talking about the chair umpire because he was the best shes ever seen. She criticized Dementieva at the australian open for not taking advantage of a 6-2 5-0 lead during an interview session leaving Dementieva speechless, even though Dementieva still won the match 6-2 6-2 in a blowout. I mean shes just so random sometimes its kinda funny but still I cant rank her any higher. But still Pam was inducted into the tennis hall of fame in 2002.

Once upon a time in 2005 I vowed for the rest of my life that I would always hate hate hate Mary Pierce. In 2005 she along with Dementieva reached The US Open semi final. Dementieva won the first set very easily 6-2 and then Mary became a jealous bitch. She took an injury timeout. Now normally you can do that on the change of ends for three minutes but no, Mary took a 30 minute injury timeout which is completly against the rules. Commentators, myself, and Dementieva were furious. Pierce comes back doesnt seem injured at all and cruises the next two sets. Now obviously my feelings must have changed since I have Mary at number 61. Well...they have. lol. Pierce was a correspondent for tennis channel for a little while and I realized she wasnt that bad. I knew she played for France so I figured she must be French but er Enlish surprised me. It was perfect! No accent at all. I later found out that shes actually French Canadian with an American father and actually grew up in The United States, hence the perfect accent. She just plays for France. But she isnt tat bad to me anymore. Shes actually a very sweet woman and I grew to like her. But Mary is best known for her stormy relationship with her father. Jim Pierce, who also coached Mary, often shouted abuse at her opponents during matches. On one occasion when he was sitting in the stands, he notoriously screamed, "Mary, kill the bitch!" He was also reportedly often verbally and physically abusive to Mary during practice sessions and after defeats. Jim was eventually expelled from all WTA events from 1993 to 1998. Mary dropped her father as her coach in 1993 and took out a restraining order against him. Mary took a break from tennis in 2000 and came back in 2004. She made the final of The US Open in 2005 and the final of the WTA championships at 30 years old. Mostly Marys return inspired Martina Hingis to return to the game so for that I owe Mary a huge thank you. <3

Poor Tatiana, she will probably never play the sport of tennis again. In 2008 it was revealed that she has Ankylosing Spondylitis a form of arthritis that affects athletic abilities. Its quite a shame because for the first time in her career she was on the verge of becoming a top 10 player. I saw Tatiana play for the first time at the 2004 US Open where she was beaten pretty badly by Serena Williams but I saw the talent. But since Tatiana will most likely never play again lets just focus on some career defining moments shall we? mk. In 2004 she helped france make the final of Fed Cup. France lost to Russia but Tatiana was the only one to win a rubber defeating Svetlana Kuznetsova. In 2007 Golovin won her first WTA tour event in Amelie Island Florida defeating Nadia Petrova in the final. Golovin went on to win her second career title in Portoroz Slovenia defeating country favorite Katerina Srebotnik. In 2006 Tatiana reached her only quarterfinal of a grand slam at The US Open defeatin Nadia Petrova and Anna Chakvetadze on the way. She eventually lost to tournament winner Maria Sarapova 7-6 7-6. Like I said such a shame for her to have to be injured for the rest of her young career but she still does commentating which is cool. I may have ranked her higher but I hear she is a raging slut in heat. Dont know if its true or not.

Oh Jill, how you baffle me sometimes. Jill is what we call a vetran and Jill is a fucking vetran. Shes like 35 years old and still playing professionally. Thats fine and all and it may not be entirely uncommon but Jill is not a Tier I player so the fact that she still plays at 34 surprises me and makes me admire her for her just play for fun attitude. But it does surprise me. I mean ive seen her play and for someone who has been around as long as her should know when to change up your style of play. Jill has absolutely no weapons and everytime I see her play shes just playing to keep the ball in play. She doesnt go for anything. Now thats fine if youre playing with a best friend, but when youre playing like that at a professional level you will get your ass kicked everytime. Jill out of all the years shes played on tour only won one title and that was way back in 2002 when she won Tokyo. It just baffles me that she hasnt done anything about her game. But I dont wanna trash her since I really really like her but there is one thing Jill did and that was taking out Serena Williams at Wimbledon 2005 6-3 7-6. Nice job Jill.. But the Wimbledon 2009 draw is out and Jill sould make the second round at least since her first round oponent is a joke so ill be rooting her on.

So Nadia shows up as our first current top ten player. Yeah Nadia your number 10 ranking is a gift but I doubt she will hold on to it past Wimbledon. I like Nadia a lot but ive kinda given up on her. She has been plagued with countless injuries and the fact that she is still trucking on amazes me. Now I rank Nadia at 56 because although I do like her she is a very emotional player. You never see Nadia happy on the court. She always looks pissed off. And I cant stand the players sometimes with their awful attitudes. Nadia reached her first semi final at a grand slam in 2003 at The French Open where as the 76th ranked player took out Monica Seles and Jennifer Capriati. Nadia repeated the success at The 2005 French Open where she reached her second semi final. In 2006 Petrova was a heavy favorite to win The French Open after winning the two warm up tournaments with a win over number one Justine Henin, but unfortunetly Nadia suffered an ankle injury and went out round 1. Nadia never really recovered. Yeah she may be back in the top 10 but look for it to slip soon. The chances of Nadia ever being a favorite in a grand slam again seem slim. Nadia actually didnt win her first WTA title until late 2005 which I find surprising. I do feel bad for her since Maria Sharapova made her comeback at The 2009 French Open as the 120th ranked player and had the misfortune of drawing her in round 2. And if that wasnt insult enough Nadia drew her again this year at Wimbledon for Round 3. Poor Nadia. You will most likely lose but ill still root you on. I still like Nadia but I heard rumors that shes kind of a bitch off court so that lowers her ranking a little bit.

Lol at Aravane. I love how she became into tennis. She started out as a ball girl and watched her older brother play which made her pick up the sport. But I rank her just outside of the top 50 because the poor girl had to face Michelle Screamer Be Brito at the third round of The French Open. I already explained the incident during Michelles write up so I wont be a parrot but I was so happy to see her win that match. Aravane won her first title of her career this year in Strasbourg defeating Lucie Hradecka in the finals. Rezai has also been in two other finals losing to Davenport and Dementieva. But lets keep it real, Rezai is cute so I pushed her quite a bit.

Like Shahar Peer, I remember very clearly when Mirza debuted. It was at The US Open 2005 when Mirza reached the fourth round. It was big news. Tennis in India at that point was almost non existant. I just remember commentators being very excited about this. It was rather controversial since Mirza is muslim and appearing in public without her vail caused a little controversy. But In 2004 she was awarded the Arjuna Award by the Indian government which awarded Mirza for her accomplishments. Mirza became the first Indian woman to win a WTA title. In 2005 she won the Hyderabad Open defeating Alona Bondarenko in the final. In winning, with Mahesh Bhupathi, the Mixed Doubles event at the 2009 Australian Open, she became the first Indian woman to win any grand slam event..Mirza has also won quite a handful of other WTA doubles events,8 total. In 2006, Mirza was awarded a Padma Shri award, India's fourth highest civilian honour for her contribution to tennis. Mirza has had 3 top 10 wins over Nadia Petrova, Martina Hingis, and Svetlana Kuznetsova. Now I really adore Mirza but her lack of consistansy causes her to just fall short of the top 50. Once she improves id be willing to put her in my top 20 that cute little thing.

First of Kanepi makes some of the ugliest faces when she strikes the ball. What you see above is the tamest of whats really out there. I was introuced to Kanepi at The 2008 French Open where she was a surprise quarterfinalist. Along the way she defeated Anna Chakvetadze, Anabel Medina, and Petra Kvitova. Her serve is considered to be one of the strongest on the WTA tour. Kanepi frequently hits 170 km/h to 180 km/h serves. When Kanepi gets first serves in she becomes a very dangerous player. But sometimes her serve can break down which affects her game. At the top-level Dubai Tennis Championships (Yeah the one where Shahar Peer was denied access but I already bitched about that lol) she advanced to the third round to set up a match with the former world number 1 Jelena Jankovic. She defeated Jankovic in two sets, 6-2 7-5. Jankovic was ranked no 3 at the time. She was the highest seeded player Kanepi had by that time defeated. Kanepi then defeated Elena Vesnina in the quarterfinals in straight sets with scoreline 6-3, 7-5, she was, however, denied a place in the finals by Virginie Razzano 1-6 2-6. Kanepi has reached two WTA finals losing both to Clijsters and Wozniacki respectively. Still, I really like Kanepi and hope her moment in the sun comes soon.
