You will not change my opinions, so don't waste your time. I don't agree with anyone making out in public--but if two men or two women were to be seen
holding hands and maybe sharing a short kiss in public, I don't think much would happen. For most gays, it comes from the idea that they're
self-conscious of what others will think, or say--and to be honest, I don't think many people would say anything. If they continue to hold "Gay
Days" and what not, it only further separates them from the rest of the public--and makes them stand out, thus hindering their efforts toward
"complete social acceptance". So stop going on the defense---it was a joke, I thought it was funny, and I stand by it. People like yourself, who
can't take a joke, are the reason we have political correctness bullshit screwing with our language development and freedom of speech. I hear they're
having a sale on senses of humor at Target--I think you should look into it. If not, you can keep crying me that river. Later :)
and this may be just one of the reasons people didn't want their children at "gay days"
wildly inappropriate, if you ask me.

Dude I got dirty looks for holding my mother's hand to help her cross the road when she was sick. Maybe you are 12 and don't know much about the world yet? And FYI Jani is one of the funniest people on these boards. |

continue with what you're fucking doing. needing some major theme park to shut down and hold a "Special event" just for you really isn't a
productive way to create change.

Do people think I'm a bad Mama for taking my baby to a gay parade? It was a couple of streets down from our house and my husband and I thought he'd
like all the music and glitter.
I heard some people say "A baby! A baby should NOT be here." LOL (This was years ago.)

trickmind wrote: According to some idiots the "exposure" to the gay lifestyle will make the baby grow up to be gay. This is why where I live gay people cannot adopt children. Gay parents raise gay children, evidentally, so it's better for the kids to go from foster home to foster home. Of course this fails to explain how two straight parents produce a gay child. But no, you're not bad for taking your baby there. They would like all the music and glitter just as you said. =) |

Like I said that was years ago. The kid is nine now. I just thought it was so funny that people cared. If he'd been two I wouldn't have taken him
because he would have climbed out of the stroller and run away in the crowd.

there's no reason Disney needs to hold a "GAY DAY". that's virtually the same thing as them holding "Black Day" only with less fried chicken and more glitter.Disney does NOT "hold" Gay Days! Disney has nothing to do with it; they are open to all, as usual. The Gay Days arrangers do it all on their own, and simply agree that X thousand gay people will all show up at Disney World on the same day. The park is not an "accomplice" in any way--it's just as if we wanted to have a "Survivor Sucks" day and all go to Disney together, wearing immunity necklaces to identify each other (not that I would ever want to be seen in public with any of you yahoos!). Learn a thing or two about the event before spouting off about it. And, BTW, it's been in early June for years; any parents who have such a problem with their kids seeing gay people together can go some other time. Disney is NOT going to forbid entrance to the park to people just because they "look gay", as much as you might want that. wah wah wah. cry me a river. i stand by my opinion that there is no reason for a "Gay Day" at Disney World. if gay people ever want the world to "accept" them--which has been happening more often now--they might as well "be themselves" in all situations, not just certain days that are labeled for it.Unfortunately we are not at that point yet in society, but most/all of those "Gay Days" participants DO live "normal lives" the other 363 days a year. If they continue to hold "Gay Days" and what not, it only further separates them from the rest of the public--and makes them stand out, thus hindering their efforts toward "complete social acceptance".Those who have a problem with gay people are going to do so even if the gay folks never set foot in Disney World again from now until the end of time. Prejudice should not dictate how others act. Again, Disney does NOT "shut down" on gay days--anyone, even you, can go there on those days. Try it and see; you might learn something about tolerance. |

don't tell me what I need to learn about "tolerance". I'm socially liberal and economically conservative--however, I don't believe that
parades or "days" of any sort will help the image of people who are looking for greater social acceptance. To me, Gay Pride parades are just as
ridiculous as a Black or White Pride Parade would be. Since you are born that way, it shouldn't be something that needs to be paraded around for. If
that's really necessary then maybe I'll hold a brown eyes parade--but that might offend some people who have blue eyes--and we wouldn't want to do
that now would we?
