#1 Cirie - hands down, amazing social player, but she sucked at challenges sadly
#2 Stephenie - she screwed it the second time around, but she would still be deserving #3 Neleh - she earned that final 2 spot, she should have won over that invisible woman who actually ended up winning coz no one was able to remember what she did or who the hell she was #4 Rob M. - he dominated, no need to explain #5 Eliza/Coutrney(China)/Sugar - coz we need more cool women winning |

1. Rob.C. He is best player not to win. He only needed to win the last immunity challenge against Jenna and take Matthew with him to the final. Damn you Rob
you blew it at the last hurdle.

personally ,I agree that Rob Cesterino was highly over-rated.
It's too bad that www.survivorforums.net went away. I posted there a lot back in the golden age of Survivor and I predicted, first, that during the run of THE AMAZON, that Rob was not as good as people thought. I based it on several reasons. 1) I pointed out that he certainly reacted well when the danger was spelled out for him. However, because of how he handled vote #1, the Ryan vote, where IMHO he was more afraid of a 4/4 vote and pulling the purple rock (which would not have even happened as Dave J voted for Daniel Lue in that vote), I saw a certainly cowardice in that he would WILLINGLY essentially agree to be the 5th member of a 4 person alliance. And in that, I think I saw the real Rob Cesterino there. The fact that for the next 3 episodes we saw him constantly cry about he was on the outside looking in and how in his final chat he admitted that he was reminding Roger every 5 minutes that Matt had voted for him as his reason that Matt would have gone before him if there was not a switch to me seemed quite false. As a result of this, I actually predicted that in ALL STARS, I predicted that a REALLY good player would NEVER have done what Alex Bell did (tell him how he was going to go out and why), and not only that, but someone would tell Rob that knowing he would get complacent, believing he was getting what he wanted, while they manuevered to get rid of him. And sure enough, Boston Rob did just that. And I predicted that in late fall/early winter of 2003, before the show even aired. Back to the question at hand..... BEST SURVIVOR PLAYER TO NOT WIN- for this to be valid , we have to have a player that..... A) Played the game in such a manner that would get themselves to the end B) Played the game in such a manner that would result in a majority of juror's writing their name down Since those are the two parameters that I think is needed to justify being a good player, then at the time of their loss/shortfall..... 1) Tom Buchanan- In AFRICA, he was masterful in how he consistently built the relationship/friendships he needed, to the point that even Ethan did not believe he would win. Tom furthermore also was masterful in how he manipulated Lex out to do the unpopular but necessary things that needed to be done. I think Tom had a good line of both A and B, and just when Kim Johnson won immunity, just like that, his B was seen by both Ethan and Lex, whom needed to vote for someone one. Furthermore, in ALL STARS, Tom essentially did the same thing, in that he consistently kept good relations with everyone even as Boston Rob/Amber continued to draw the fire from the jurors......I feel Tom accomplished B. What he should have done was either he REALLY needed an alliance with Jenna/Rupert to take out Amber at 5; or he should have taken out Amber instead of Alicia; and then been able to marshall an alliance with himself/Shii Ann/Rob/Alicia....an alliance with 3 people that he could have won easily against. 2) Colby Donaldson- Let us be clear- Colby has stated that he was completely taken by surprise that he did not get Alicia's vote, and so was I- the fact that Alicia even stated in her confessional that in the game of life, Colby is totally whom she would gravitate towards, but that in the game of survivor, she stated her reasons for giving it to Tina.......that's why i don't think too much of it of him making that 'mistake' of taking Tina instead of Keith because I think he thought he had Alicia/Nick/Amber/Rodger votes locked up. 3) Johnny Fairplay- I think in Pearl Islands, John's abillity to play the game was just fine. If he was aware that there was an anti-burton/lillian for being OUTCAST tribe members, then that was totally the correct alliance to be in, if only that it would have gotten him the win regardless. 4) Becky- I do think that she had a lot of sway with Yul and that she fell short in making the case for herself to win. the sad fact of survivor is that if you think someone is going to win over you, you need to axe that person. That meant both Ozzy and Yul were both threats to her, but she still did well IMHO. 5) Courtney as above. |

1. Cirie, I think is the best player to not win.
2. Yauman 3. Kelly W. for sure 4. Rob C. 5. Jonny Fairplay <--socially he's not the best but strategically, he's the best in Pearl Islands. |

1. Cirie - Had it been a F3 as everyone thought, she'd have won.
2. Big Tom - Another production fail, if Lex had won the F3 immunity it was Tom's game. So underrated. 3. Rob M - Dominated and was faced with a jury he couldn't convince. 4. Colby - As Rob, dominated but failed in evaluating how great Tina's social game was. 5. Cassandra/Katie - Both played the perfect game for a weaker lady, but were faced with a jury obsessed with alpha-males. |

I'm disgusted by the number of people who have put Candice on their lists. She has no business being there. If she'd just waited until the merge before
flipping, everything would've worked out fine.

Amanda - made it to the end two seasons in a row, with little time to recouperate between the filming of the first and second season. 2. Cirie - final four twice, and had she made it to the end eachtime she probably would have won both times. 3. Twila- If all jury members voted soley on game play she would have won. 4. matty - the fire building challenge was the only thing that kept him from winning in a landslide. if it was him, sugar and susie, he would have had marcus, charlie, corrine, randy, kenny and crystals votes. not sure how bob would have voted. 5.kathy - the only thing that stood in her way of winning was one immunity challenge.

huh? that makes no sense. The point of the game is to win! There is no set way to win the game as we have seen many different types of winners, so if you pull of the win, you did what you were suppose to do, and the other players didnt. that means you were the best player!^that's what I was contradicting. I hate the argument that people who won are automatically the best player in that season. It's a bunch of crap. Just because someone didn't win doesn't mean they're not the best player based simply on the fact that they didn't win. |

01. Cirie (S16) Did everything completely right. The only mistake she made was being on a season that had a F2 and not a F3. 02. Cirie (S12) She positioned herself perfectly, even down to going to the F4 with the one person who was least likely to work with Terry. The ridiculously powerful HII killed her. 03. RobM (S8) His one mistake was in making a deal with Alicia. If he hadn't promised her end-game, he'd have won. 04. Kathy (S4) From her original place on the tribe as the first boot to becoming the ultimate jury threat, she was beautiful. She played her cards perfectly at the F9, F5, and F4, and would've won if not for the purple rock - she'd have killed Neleh in a fire challenge, and Vecepia would have no choice but to take Kathy to the F2 and lose. 05. Twila (S9) She positioned herself in the best place, engineering the F7 flip and then setting up a perfect F4 where she'd only lose against Chris. She was unlucky that he won both immunities and that the jury was supremely jealous of her superior good looks. 06. Jenn (S10) Even if Ulong had been a half-way decent tribe, Jenn would've lasted to the merge with a strong core alliance and three sub-alliances (Jenn/Gregg/Katie, Jenn/Gregg, and Jenn/Katie). She had a F3 set up where either would take her to the finals, but Katie's unmitigated Ian love ruined it. Jenn also would've gone with a women's alliance at F7, offing Tom and securing herself an even better F4, but thanks to Caryn, she lost out there and on Gregg. Her forced tie at the F4 is unparalleled and was completely unexpected - getting Tom to turn on Ian, seriously?! If she had won the tiebreaker she'd have cut a deal with Tom and gone F2 with him, where she'd have a good shot of winning (Coby, Janu, Gregg and Katie probably would've voted for her). 07. Natalie (S16) Natalie worked her way into an already tight alliance from the favorite's side and worked her magic on eliminating both Jason and Erik. She was considered the unparalleled jury threat and apparently would've even beaten Cirie in a F2 vote, thanks to her unseen amazing social game. She did the exact right move at F6, and if Amanda hadn't found the easy HII, Nat would've gone to a great F3 of Alexis/Parv, where either would have taken her. In the off chance that Erik won all of the F5/4/3 immunities, he would've taken Nat to the finals as well and lost. <3 Even with the HII, Nat almost made it to the F3, where she could've won the last challenge and won everything. 08. Lill (S7) One thing made Lill lose this game: a Boy Scout uniform. She was the best post-merge player by far and wasn't rewarded for it because JEALOUSY IS A DISEASE BITCHEZ. |
