I bet the logo is what is going to put Chicago over the top. Not really that it's that good, but the others are so bad.

I wonder if Rio will be penalized at all because Brazil is already hosting the 2014 World Cup.

The '94 World Cup was held here, and the '96 Olympics held here in Atlanta.
If anything, I think the IOC would view this as a plus, as a test run for the big event. A warm-up, if you will. The more I think about it, Rio's got this locked up. You know the IOC will be resolving any doubt in favor of the first South American Olympiad. But then again, I thought Paris had it locked up last time around. I was shocked when London got it. What's winter like in Rio anyhow? Probably better athletic than in the hot summer, right? Note the multiple Australian hosts. |

Piranhahaha, found this in an article: "Like Madrid, Rio's candidacy has gone to great lengths to highlight the sunny blue skies that have been
lacking in Beijing. The green part of the campaign is backed up by renewable and sustainable energy. And the country's 8,000 kilometres of sandy white
beaches will be utilized during the August Olympic period thanks to the balmy winter weather."

Rio is a fewer people than Sao Paulo. Sao Paulo would be the final event city for the 2014 World Cup. Because Sao Paulo has a population of over 18 million and
it is a crowded city in South America.

Rio is a very dangerous city with a shitload of crime...not that Chicago doesn't have crime but all in all I think people would be safer here.

Geez, quite the rehashing on the news about Mayor Daley promising tax money for the Olympics - like people actually thought the taxpayers wouldn't be
paying for it....

That's why Rio won't get the Olympics.
