See, I didn't cry but I was really pissed off and felt for Allison. And felt those who said such things were shallow and cruel. So doing it to Cookie comes across the same way to me. And before anyone says anything, yes, I do it ALL the time to Gokey. And I enjoy it. But I'm admitting that when it comes to Gookie, I relish being sadistic and shallow. I take pleasure in it.

Adam got the pimp slot at Top36 Group2, Top 8, Top 5, Top 4 (duet where he and Allison where they sang last), and Top 3 (3 straight pimp slots). That is a record 5 pimp slots (along with Clay). In most other weeks, he performed near the end of the show. Simon begged people to vote for Adam during Top 4 and had the judges chanting vote, vote, vote. They interrupted their critiques of all the other contestants by praising Adam that week. The producers cleared special songs for him (Led Zeppelin), Simon named dropped Bono and U2, special lighting and effects ... whatever Adam wanted. The praise from the judges were almost always OTT. I am glad because they almost never criticized him or offered him any suggestions for improvement. So because of that maybe he felt he didn't need to change things up or tone down his singing which for some people was polarizing. He stagnated and became repetitive and the OTT praise and the plateau effect help lead to Kris overtaking him in the voting. Adam Lambert was definitely the most pimped contestant in AI history.

And for all of the talk of Gokey pimping, I would argue that he was NEVER given the pimp spot in the finals. Yes, he sang last of the individuals on top 4 night, but they put the Addison duet after him, effectively neutralizing any pimptastic benefit (not that there would have been one for THAT performance...).

There's a difference between getting the pimp spot (definitely an advantage) and being pimped by the Judges. What my post said was that I contend is that Gokey and Adam were the two most pimped Final 2 in AI history. It was clear all 4 judges wanted those 2 in the Final 2 and were willing to throw Allison and Kris under the bus (and before them Matt or Anoop when convenient) to get there. The criticisms of Allison and Kris were particularly unfair in the later weeks and it would take someone deaf, dumb and blind to not see that the Judges wanted Allison out for a Final 3 of Kris, Gokey and Adam and a Final 2 of Gokey and Adam.

And it backfired. And I'm glad. I'm just mad still that the Final 3 weren't Allison, Kris and Adam.
